"It went really well, better than expected. Mr. King was great to work with as he provided me several options for water proofing (for the future) and he installed a sump pump which is what I needed as the first step. He was on time, cleaned up after the job was done (and during) and wanted to make sure we were very happy with his work. I waited to do a review because I wanted to see how the sump pump worked after rain. We have had a couple of good rain events since it was installed and we heard it working and doing its job. The unit is a little loud, but knowing it is working and moving the water out of the crawlspace is all that matters to me."

"Kevin is a friendly, knowledgeable professional.  He understood our problem and recommended several guttering solutions to solve it.  The seamless gutters were ordered and installed within 10 days or so.  Company kept in contact during this time to update on the status of order.  Highly recommend this fine company.

Concrete Resurfacing questions, answered by experts

A concrete overlay is often the most cost-effective way to resurface a pool deck. To do this, you’ll need to pour a thin layer of concrete over the existing pool deck, which you can customize by stamping or painting. A stamped concrete overlay provides additional traction on a pool deck that can help minimize the risk of people slipping and falling.

You can dry pour concrete over existing concrete, but it’s best to use wet pour concrete instead. Dry pour concrete is easier to apply, but in order for new concrete to adhere to old concrete, it needs the right mixture for slow, uniform curing. Additionally, dry pour concrete is less durable and less resistant to cracking and concrete sinking, so dry pouring over an existing slab may result in surface imperfections appearing prematurely.

While you don’t technically need to grind concrete before resurfacing, it is very helpful. Grinding creates a rough, porous surface on the concrete, which gives the resurfacing material something to latch onto. Grinding your concrete before resurfacing can ensure that your resurfacing material lasts longer, reducing additional concrete resurfacing costs down the line.

A concrete overlay on an existing slab can range from 1/4 of an inch to 2 inches thick, though a minimum of 2 inches is often recommended to ensure stability and quality. The ideal thickness depends on the condition of the existing concrete and the depth of any planned designs or imprints. Before applying the overlay, it's important to repair and clean the surface, then apply a primer. For specialized work like a stamped concrete overlay, hiring an experienced contractor is recommended to determine the correct thickness and ensure the new layer isn't too high or heavy. For context, most standard concrete slabs are between 4 and 6 inches thick.

Yes—as long as the area has been properly prepped. Different self-leveling brands and compounds have their own specific instructions for preparation; some may require that you add primer or grind the surface. Without proper preparation of the surface, the compound will not be able to fully bond to the concrete and fill the cure as a separate layer, which makes it prone to chipping.
