After taking a long time to diagnose the issue, he told me I simply needed a new GFCI outlet. I?ve replaced these myself before for under $20, so I was surprised when he quoted $298 for the hour, despite only being there roughly 30 minutes at that point. He then said he had to leave and purchase a GFCI from a hardware store ? surprising for such a basic and common part. He assured me he would be back, complete the work, and still finish within an hour total. Instead, he was gone about 25 minutes, returned, and ended up barely over the one-hour mark. Because of that, he charged me for a second full hour, even though the delay was entirely due to his slow pace and leaving to buy a part he should have had on-hand. I would've done it myself if I knew he was going to lie."
