"I had an amazing experience with this locksmith! He was extremely professional, knew exactly what he was doing, and got my car unlocked super quickly. You could tell right away that he was experienced and confident in his work. The whole process was smooth and stress-free, and I really appreciated how efficient and courteous he was. I would absolutely recommend this locksmith to anyone who needs fast and reliable help!"
"I do not typically write reviews but Locksmith downtown was excellent! They were incredibly responsive and solved my issue very quickly. They were very nice and professional and I would recommend their services to anyone!"
"Chris with Lock-It-Down Locksmith arrived at our home on time, replaced the malfunctioning locks quickly, explaining what was wrong and how he was going to fix it. He is very knowledgeable and was a pleasure doing business with. Angi has a winner with Lock-It-Down and I recommend them highly."
"The replacement went fine. The work was professional and at the agreed time. I was pleased with that. My only issue was with the charges. I had found the mechanism online priced at $108 (with $13 shipping). It would have arrived after my desired time frame, so I expected the locksmith would have a local resource from which to purchase at a wholesale price in a more timely manner. I expected that price to be about $60; certainly less than $100. However, I was told the locksmith paid $179! This didn't seem reasonable. Also, I did not receive an itemized receipt, only a total. After expecting to pay perhaps $150, I was actually charged almost TWICE that. So although I was happy with the work, I was certainly not happy with the price."
"He is an excellent locksmith. He is so knowledgeable about security, locks, doors and systems. He is a man of integrity and learned the trade from his father."
"I had lost a key and needed a new one made so I contacted this Locksmith company. I was quoted an arrival time and price to which the Technician showed up earlier than expected. The gentleman that arrived was extremely professional. I was very satisfied with this company and would definately recommend and use them again. A+++"
"I did a search on Angie's List for Locksmiths - and a coupon came up listing Cars Unlocked for $49.00. I clicked on it not knowing that they were located in Arlington. (I live in Garland). The address never appeared on the coupon until after I had already purchased it; I called Dexter, thinking that perhaps the company had multiple locations, and he said no, that he was the only one , and located in Arlington. I was going to cancel and get a credit, but he insisted on taking care of me. Anyway, he is really a nice guy, and you should all call him. I would say that I would use him again; however I would never ask him to drive this far again. Instead of making money on my job, I'm sure he lost at least $50.00 driving this far. AND it's Angie's Lists' fault for not putting his address on the coupon."
"I had Ran come out and he did the work. He sized the need quickly and worked quickly as I was in a hurry to be someplace. He was very pleasant and he did an excellent job. I would call him again if I needed and I would highly recommend him."
Using a combination of tools (often store-bought plumbing tools) and brute force, a burglar can easily snap the lock on a door. Snapping a lock aims to gain access to the cylinder inside, which holds the locking mechanism. Once the thief snaps the lock, they can pick the cylinder open and walk right in.
Security experts recommend deadbolt locks as the most secure option for a house's exterior or entry doors. Deadbolts provide the best security because they can prevent most types of forced entry and are harder to lockpick. Common types include the standard single-cylinder deadbolt, which is often found on front doors. For enhanced security, you can opt for a double-cylinder deadbolt, which requires a key to operate from both the inside and the outside.
The best type of deadbolt depends on your specific needs. If accessibility is your primary concern, a single-cylinder deadbolt is the easiest to operate. Mortise locks are likely the most secure type of deadbolt you can install, but single-cylinders combined with secondary locking mechanisms like vertical locks are also a great option. Smart locks will give you the most flexibility to open and close your locks whenever and wherever you need to.
In general, keyless door locks are considered safe, and their security depends on the type and quality of the lock. They cannot be picked like a traditional lock and often include added features like biometric access, PIN codes, and smartphone connectivity, which can make them more secure. However, they are not without risks. Potential vulnerabilities include hacking for Wi-Fi-connected models, battery failure, power outages, and technical malfunctions. To maximize security, it is important to choose a reliable brand, stay on top of software updates, and perform regular maintenance. While the risks are different, keyless locks are not considered more dangerous than traditional locks.
Keyless locks are great for convenience, letting you unlock doors with a code or your phone so you don't need to carry keys around. They also often come with helpful features like temporary codes for guests. On the downside, they can be more costly up front and do require batteries that will eventually need replacing. If you value ease of use and additional security features, keyless locks are worth the investment.
