"It's been 5 years since we replaced all grass and foliage in our backyard with "stamped concrete" and had our pool redone. The concrete is in great condition but lost it's lustre and was looking dull. We needed it to look like it did originally. Looked in Angie's List and Home Advisor for some possibilities. Started with 2 companies that were both highly rated in both referral services. The winner ended up being Collin County Concrete. Family owned, friendly, and excellent work. You can reach them at 972-896-9202 (Wayne) or 972-402-0027 (Sherail)."

"ABOVE EXCELLENT. MVC Concrete is everything you want in a construction company. Frank Correa came by on the weekend to review the need and provide an estimate because it was the best timing for me. That was the first of several steps where they delivered beyond expectations. Next his price was good, the options he offered were great. We arrived at a estimate and bid and I even changed my mind to add color and a rock salt finish and we worked together on that change. He explained how I need a footer on the concrete to keep the patio from moving and how the type rebar that would be used. The scheduling of the job was a challenge too because we were working through some foundation repair also. Frank and his team stayed flexible until we got the foundation work done and his team was here the next day to do an amazing patio job. WOW. Not sure how much more concrete work I will do. Frank and I discussed a retaining wall, new side walk, anything concrete they are the company I will use. The finished product looks amazing. They gave me instructions on how to care for it the next couple of days to get the best result. MVC Concrete gets an A rating from me only because a higher rating is not available."

"Contact started off ok, but got worse and worse. Was told one day but then got a last minute cancel. Got excuses about subcontracting out work and their equipment being down. I understood when we had rain and they could not work, no problem there. I was quoted $250 for 3 hours of work, then when they called to confirm the last appointment we set and was told it would be $300 had to argue to get the price I was quoted via Angie Mail on here. They also accidentally broke my neighbors fence and cut another neighbors cable all accidents which I understand as they fixed the fence. They also broke one of my splash guards for my gutters and never replaced it. They also didnt even work a full 3 hours on my backyard yet still paid $250. Would not use them again due to the issues I encountered.

"Chad Hunter was at our house the morning after we called for a tree removal estimate. He was friendly, professional, prompt, and very fairly priced. We hired him that day. He had his crew out a few days later and within an hour my huge dead oak tree was a mere memory to me. They cut in down, removed all the limbs, branches, and truck. No hail away for us to worry about. His crew was very friendly and did a great job. I will definitely refer Hunters to any friends and family in the future. Chad makes sure you are satisfied with the job, hires dependable, trustworthy employees, and gives you great value for your dollar. You can't go wrong with a company like Chad Hunter's!"

Concrete Cutting questions, answered by experts

Sawing your hot tub into more manageable chunks so it can be lifted easily into a truck takes several hours. Generally, 2.5 hours for smaller hot tubs and around 4 hours for larger ones with the help of one to two people. If money isn't a concern and you want to skip the physical labor, you can hire a pro to get the job done.

You should not do your own welding unless you have the proper training and experience. Most home electrical systems can only handle MIG welding, which creates weaker bonds than TIG welding and won’t work on certain metals or metal thicknesses. Both welding forms usually require the use of shielding gas, which can be dangerous to store at home. Additionally, welding machines create temperatures of over 3,000 degrees, and the sparks can blind you if you don’t have the proper equipment. As such, it’s usually better to hire a professional welder for your welding projects.

Professional metal fabricators typically charge around $70 per hour, but the total cost of your project will depend on several factors. The largest cost drivers are the size, complexity, and design of the project, as well as the price and type of metal used. A good way to estimate the total cost is to multiply the cost of raw materials by four; typically, one-quarter of the total goes toward materials and three-quarters toward labor. Your geographic location can also influence costs, as labor and material prices vary by region.

Costs depend on unit complexity, labor, wall mounting needs, and additional accessories like floating shelves.

Your typical household tools will not cut a metal pipe. To cut a metal pipe, you’d need more specialized tools like a pipe cutter or circular saw. Do not attempt to use these tools without taking proper safety precautions and wearing safety gear. It’s usually safer to let a pro cut a metal pipe, especially if you’re not confident in your skills with a heavy-duty saw.
