"This was a hindsight 20/20 experience and if I had simply read the articles that advise you on how to spot a shady contractor I would have found a different contractor. 1. Nothing was in writing. 2. Communication was horrible. 3. Work took much longer than required and quality was lacking. The contractor did acknowledge the lack of communication and apologized with a discount but I would have spent 2x as much to have less hassle and better quality. I have new holes in my wall, mortar stains on my deck, front yard, and flower bed. I constantly had to clean food, cans, paper towels, and bottles thrown by works in both the front and backyard. They tried to cut corners and leave spots filled with caulking instead of tile and already there is opening between the tile from shoddy labor. I have a broken water line to my fridge and missing Halloween decorations. This was a really bad experience and I still have to spend more money to have someone fix the shabby labor."
