"Linda cleaned my house for over a year the one day just stopped coming.  In the beginning it was her and her daughter but sometimes she brought a sister or her husband, but she always brought someone to help her.  About 6 months before she stopped coming altogether, she started coming alone.  She was in and out in the same amount of time as she was when she had a helper, so as you can imagine, quite a few corners were cut.  I have no idea what happened with her, and my house and I miss her as she did great work prior to the last 4 or 6 months, but I did not appreciate the unprofessional action of just not coming anymore with no heads up or explanation.

Sonic Cleaning FAQs, answered by experts

The best way to clean a roof without damaging it is to opt for soft washing, or better yet, leave it to a professional roof cleaner. Soft washing involves a biodegradable cleaning solution being sprayed on the roof and gently rinsed away after it dissolves built-up residue on your shingles.

It is not advisable to DIY a roof cleaning job. Cleaning your roof yourself could lead to hazardous falls, scrapes, and even burns, making this a dangerous project. Additionally, using the wrong cleaning solution or cleaning method on your roof could risk damaging it. While some markets offer a DIY roof cleaning kit, these products often speed up the deterioration of your roof.

To ensure that you and your roof are protected, it’s best to leave roof cleaning to a professional with the right chemicals, tools, and equipment to complete the job safely.

You could void your roof warranty using a power washer if you have a newer roof. With an older roof, you could knock loose older shingles. On the other hand, some people safely use a pressure washer to remove moss from a metal roof. Although you may want to use a pressure washer, the truth is that you probably don’t need it to knock moss loose. A garden hose and brush will do the job just fine and in a safer manner than a pressure washer.

Yes, pros use specialized solutions and pressure settings tailored to surface sensitivity.

No, you should not pressure wash or power wash roof shingles, including asphalt shingles. The high water pressure from these machines is too strong and can damage the shingles by forcing water underneath, loosening their adhesive, and causing them to fall off. A safer and better alternative is soft washing with a pump sprayer. To ensure the job is done safely without causing damage, it is best to hire a local roof cleaner.
