"Daniel was very responsive to my request and contacted me on the same day I made the request. He came out to look at my front yard. He gave me a very reasonable estimate. His team did the lead removal this morning. They were finished very quickly, and there wasn’t one leaf—no exaggeration—not one leaf left on the ground. I don’t know how they did it so quickly, quietly, or efficiently! That oak tree seems to lose a ton of leaves every day. I highly recommend this company."

"I was very pleased with the quality of the carpentry work but the painter who worked with the carpenter did not do a quality job. Would hire the carpenter again but would not opt to have anything painted."

"Epic Lawn Service evaluated my fixes: removed the 7ft. stump of a 90 year oak tree, filled in the hole and smoothed the earth to match the yard around it, repaired 30 ft. of chain link fence, raked up leaves scattered around the house and on the roof. Epic Lawn finished the job on time and with care. Terrific Team!"

"Excellent service and impressive finished product. Carmelo was great to work with and did an outstanding job on all our projects including... leveling and sodding our backyard with gravel trim around the fence, repairing sprinkler heads, clearing out our existing front yard and front entry landscaping bushes, recommending and designing new landscaping ideas including removing old pave stone work and extending the flower bed. My new rock gardens in front of my house and entry way are a massive improvement. We now have a very pleasant and inviting entry way to our home."

"I hired Paul to remove a few junk items and a moldy refrigerator. He was very professional and made it about as easy as it could possibly be. I would definitely recommend using the service. In fact I have a bunch of debris that got piled up on a fence from the heavy rains that I will be reaching out to him for."

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

While not all homes built before 1978 contain lead paint, enough do, so you’ll still want to test to be on the safe side. The federal government banned lead-based paint for homes in 1978, but your state may have banned lead before that time. Around 24% of homes built between 1960 and 1977 contained lead-based paint, while 87% of homes built before 1940 contained lead-based paint.

When a surface that contains lead dust is disturbed, the dust can float about in the air for roughly an hour before settling again. Since you cannot see the dust, it is important always to wear protective gear when working with any materials that may contain lead paint and to keep children, pets, and others away from the area for as long as possible

According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), hazardous waste is generally classified into four main categories:

1. Characteristic Wastes: These exhibit at least one of four hazardous traits: ignitability (flammable, like gasoline), corrosivity (can rust or decompose materials, like car batteries), reactivity (unstable and can explode, like aerosol cans), or toxicity (harmful when ingested, like lead-based paint).

2. Listed Wastes: These are specific wastes from manufacturing and industrial processes that the EPA has officially designated as hazardous. They include byproducts from processes that use solvents, pesticides, and other chemicals.

3. Universal Wastes: These are commonly generated hazardous items that are subject to streamlined regulations. Examples include batteries, pesticides, mercury-containing equipment (e.g., bulbs), and some lamps.

4. Mixed Wastes: This category includes waste that contains both hazardous and radioactive components, making it subject to regulation by both the EPA and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

You do not have to remove lead paint if the surface is not chipping or peeling or if there are no pregnant people or children under the age of six who live in or regularly visit your home. Lead paint is a particular risk for young children whose brains and bodies are not fully developed. Experts strongly recommend that you call a pro to remove lead paint if it’s peeling or flaking, no matter who lives in the home. You can experience lead poisoning by breathing in or ingesting just a small amount of it.

Household products such as paints, cleaners, oils, and batteries are considered hazardous and should not be disposed of with regular household waste. Instead, look for local household hazardous waste collection facilities where you can safely dispose of these items without harming the environment or human health.
