"Window Expo replaced my windows two years ago and I was so pleased, I had them replace the windows at my daughter and son-in-law s house. Lalo and his helper were excellent. They were so professional and very thoughtful in covering the furniture close to the windows and used drop cloths on the floor and under each window. They cleaned up after themselves and finished the job by blowing off the driveway of any debris that might have been dropped from the truck. I highly recommend Window Expo to anyone thinking of replacing their windows with new, highly efficient ones."

"We recently had our asphalt roof replaced and couldn?t be happier with the entire experience. From the first call to the final cleanup, the team was professional, responsive, and easy to work with. They walked us through the process, answered all of our questions, and made everything stress-free. The crew showed up on time, worked efficiently, and paid close attention to detail. The quality of the work really shows?the roof looks great and gives us peace of mind knowing it was done right. They also did a thorough job cleaning up afterward, which we really appreciated. Overall, the service was smooth, honest, and reliable. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone looking for a roof replacement. Great experience from start to finish."

Windows questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can always make an existing window bigger, but the job complexity varies widely depending on the location of the window and the framing around it. Exterior walls are always load-bearing, so making windows wider will require structural changes that make for a more complex but doable project. Making windows taller often won’t require structural changes.

Yes, triple-pane windows are more resistant to condensation. They help to reduce interior condensation that forms as a result of warmer temperatures inside your home than outside it. This makes them a good fit for cooler climates, particularly with newer, well-sealed homes that retain higher levels of moisture in the winter months.

In short, it depends. After 20 years, the glass in your windows is less energy efficient, which can cause increased electricity bills. You might also see signs of water damage or natural wear and tear over the years. However, with proper maintenance, some window frames can last up to 50 years, so you may only need to replace the glass to save on energy.

At the same time, window replacement is a major investment, so replacing the glass in rooms most impacted by outdoor temperatures is one way to avoid going all-in to replace your windows.

If you don't have hurricane shutters or impact-resistant windows, boarding up windows before a hurricane is worth it. According to the Federal Alliance for Safe Homes, protection is essential for all your home's entry points, including windows, doors, skylights, and garage doors.

When windows break, wind enters your home, creating enough pressure that could cause the weakest part of your to rupture. Often, the weakest part is the roof, which can "pop" off of a home in a hurricane. The simple act of boarding up your windows can protect the structural integrity of your house.

There are a few reasons your crank windows might not close. First, determine if your window crank is working properly and opening and closing the window when you turn it. If it’s not, the crank may need replacing, cleaning, or lubricating. Another reason your windows aren’t closing could be dirt and debris in the window hinges or sash. Finally, make sure your window lock operator is set in the unlocked position and isn’t blocking the window from fully closing. If you’re still having trouble closing your window, it may be worth consulting a local window contractor.
