"I recently completed a six-month project with NRG Remodeling, and I couldn't be more impressed! The renovation of my 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home, and kitchen went smoothly from start to finish. The communication was top-notch, and the team worked quickly and efficiently, all while maintaining very fair pricing. The quality of the workmanship was outstanding, and the entire experience was stress-free—much smoother than I anticipated. It's rare to find such a professional and personable team, and I’m already planning my next project with them. I would absolutely recommend them for any home renovation and will definitely turn to them for future work!"

"Highly recommended. He rebuilt the built-ins in my laundry room, turn the garage hall closet into a nice mud room, and completely gutted and made new built-ins for my master closet including crown molding and floor platform. He hand made cabinet doors and drawers to match my existing house cabinets. Exceeded my expectations, especially with value."

"I would like to thank Al, Jesus & Oscar at Spacemanager Closets for their time and their professionalism in our primary closet & pantry remodel. Al was just simply amazing in the designing of our pantry and primary closet. We had an interesting shaped closet because of a â bump outâ from our electric fireplace in the living room. When Al came by for our home consultation, I asked him to just imagine a new space for us in our closet and then we could move things around as I thought we needed. We only had to do a few very small changes. His designs were exactly on point and he utilized every nook & cranny to give us the best closet we could have in that space. Jesus & Oscar are the dream team we had for our pantry and closet installation. Jesus and Oscar are my kind of guys. They worked hard for 4 days and were very detail-oriented and wanted everything to be just right. Even my husband was complimenting them on how professional they were, treated our home and space with respect and communicated freely and easily if there was anything they had questions about during the install. I canâ t recommend this company, Al and the installers, Jesus and Oscar enough. If you want a beautiful, functional closet, call and get Al as your designer and request Jesus & Oscar for the install. Amazingly beautiful, both the pantry and our primary closet. We love, love, love our new spaces."

Closets questions, answered by experts

Different types of closets are defined mostly by size. A few different types of closets include:

  • A reach-in closet is a smaller closet that you can stand in front of and reach everything inside it. Aside from the size, the doors and the level of drywall finish are typically the largest price factors.

  • A walk-in closet can be anything from a small 5-by-5 feet closet that has a narrow walkway with shelves on both sides to a 100 square foot bedroom-sized closet with shelving along the walls and plenty of room to move around in.

  • A built-in wardrobe often does not have a door and leaves the clothes and other contents open to the room, whereas a closet usually has a door to separate it from the rest of the room.

Plywood offers excellent stability and strength for drawer construction. Baltic birch plywood provides a premium appearance, while standard hardwood plywood offers good value. Solid wood works well but requires more attention to grain direction and seasonal movement.

A foyer or entryway is typically a formal landing area for guests, located at the primary entrance of a home. It is often more formally decorated and connects directly to the main living space. In contrast, a mudroom is a more casual, utilitarian room, usually leading in from a secondary entrance like a garage or the side or rear of the house. It serves as a space for residents to remove shoes and outerwear to keep mud, dirt, and water out of the main home.

There are a few reasons custom closets are expensive: materials used, the luxury factor, and time to build. The people who can afford custom closets are those who can afford increased rates, and construction workers and contractors know this and charge accordingly. The time to build custom closets is substantial, especially if expensive material is being used or intricate details (like carved wood) are added to the project.

Some features and upgrades you can add (some of which increase the closet’s value) are: modular shelving, motion-activated lighting, climate control, custom lighting, cigar humidors, revolving shoe racks, jewelry shelves, custom woodwork, and built-in laundry hampers. While only truly luxury closets have all of these, many custom closets have at least one special feature listed above.
