"Phillip came in, and gave me an estimate to paint my kitchen cabinets, and then got started the next week. To say he did a phenomenal job is an understatement. And it’s the little things along the way that made a huge impact (like helping with choosing the paint color, discussions about hardware, fixing trim pieces, and accommodating my need to let my dogs out). I work from home so I got to see the whole process and Phillip is very thorough and very neat. I’ve already asked him to do another paint job for me. My 1963 cabinets were original to the house and in rough shape, but I didn’t want to rip out all wood cabinets. He made them look brand new."

Small jobs welcome

"We hired Renu Painting to Limewash our exterior brick and paint our trim. They performed excellent work, and the project manager stayed on top of everything. We were very pleased with the finished project, and have had MANY positive compliments. They transformed an ugly red brick home to and stunning white brick with black trim! We live on a golf course and our neighbors LOVE it!"

"Jeff showed up to provide our estimate and was ready and willing to start the job immediately. His prices are extremely competitive, and he did a great job in trimming our tree as well as the clean up. Jeff is very nice, professional, and a pleasure to do business with. Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

You’ll need to restrain your deck when you notice fading, cracking, peeling, or mold and mildew over a moderate to large area, or when it’s become especially difficult to clean. As for how often to stain a deck, plan to do it every two to three years or whenever you start to notice extended damage.

You can use latex or acrylic paint outdoors. Although acrylic paint tends to last longer outside, it also costs more, so if you’re painting the outside of your house, for instance, latex paint is often a go-to option. However, acrylic will be your best choice if you want to spend some extra money for added durability.

When choosing between deck stain or paint, knowing what will last longer is important. Deck paint lasts longer than deck stain. With deck paint, you can get up to 10 years of coverage before you need to reapply. With deck stain, that time is significantly shorter at two to three years

Yes, staining or sealing a cedar deck or fence is highly recommended to extend its lifespan, typically by five to 10 years. While cedar is naturally resistant to mold and mildew, it can still fall victim to moisture, sun exposure, and rot over time. Applying a treatment creates a protective shield that helps prevent splintering, fading, and decay, preserving the wood's strength and appearance. A combination stain and sealer often provides the best protection, as it soaks into the wood grain rather than just sitting on top. This offers superior defense against UV damage and rot and lasts longer than a sealer alone. To maintain the wood's natural look, consider using a near-translucent stain. You should plan to reapply the stain or sealer every two to three years.

The best time to paint your deck is when temperatures are neither too cold (below 60 degrees) nor too hot (above 85 degrees). Always paint your deck when there’s no risk of rain. For fast-drying paint like acrylic or latex, ensure your deck can dry for at least four hours. Oil-based paints take longer to dry and may require 48 hours to completely cure.
