"Lone Star Energy Savers did an excellent job on my home addition! They were very thorough and detail oriented every step of the way, and all the work was at a reasonable price! Michael quickly met with us for an estimate, and he and Julio worked around our schedule for the installation date. The crew was very knowledgeable, hard working, and respectful. Overall, every thing went above and beyond my expectations. I am extremely satisfied with the work they did for me and I highly recommend them for all your insulation needs! They are great in every way!"

"We were looking for attic insulation and found Texas Pro during google search. We left a message on web site and few day later Nick Anderson contacted us and setup a time to explain the system. Nick scheduled a meeting, where he explained how his radiant barrier and how it worked compared to other insulation. We felt very confidant dealing with Nick. He is not your also ran salesperson. Nick is down to earth and explains the entire process without ever pressuring you to make a purchase. He even showed us his own electricity bills to show the difference. We opted to schedule the installation of the radiant. A time was set and workers arrived 05/31/25. They were on time and Stephon and Rasaun got to work. It took about 5 hrs and hour to install and clean up. Stephon showed us the work and explained how it was installed. It was all professionally done and looked very neat and clean. The workers took great care to prevent any damage to ceiling. It was a phenomenal job by Stephon and Ra"

"Luis showed up on time and did a very professional job changing air filters, alarm batteries, installing light covers, etc. He had a "Mr Handyman" uniform on and drove a truck decorate with "Mr Handyman" . This indicated that the company was professional and not just a part time handyman service. Then time included traveling to the store to pick up the correct size/type of light bulbs. Mr Handyman may be a bit more expensive (approx $300, ((which included supplies)) for two hours of work), but it was well worth the competence."

Customers say: True professional

"Mr Lenard arrived at my block and beam farm house spent as long as necessary talking through options and prices points for old under house insulation removal and replacement with spray foam. He also walked through actions I should take to reduce moisture collection underneath the house. Leonard was patient with my schedule while I actioned the recommendations, and finally, spray foam work conducted was above expectations. Thank you Leonard and the Insulation Services team, when it’s time to insulate the barn, I’ll be calling again."

Eifs Installers questions, answered by experts

You install a window well 8 to 12 inches deeper than the base of the window sill. After filling the well with drainage rock, the well should sit 3 inches below the bottom of the window. The top of the window well should also be at least 3 inches higher than the surface-grade ground. The window well should be about 6 inches wider than the window opening.

To find and hire a reputable contractor for an egress window installation, you should first research local professionals and then vet your top candidates. Start by searching for local contractors who specialize in this type of work, read their customer reviews, and examine their website and portfolio. Once you have a shortlist, contact them to ask key questions: Are you licensed and insured? What is your specific experience installing egress windows? Can you provide references from previous customers? Do you perform the work yourself or use subcontractors? What is the estimated project timeline and your current schedule? How do you handle payment?

The cost to install a bow window can range from $1,500 to $15,000, with a national average of $3,900. The total price includes materials, which can cost between $1,200 and over $14,000, and labor, which typically adds $300 to $1,900. Several factors influence the final cost, including the window's size and frame material. For example, vinyl frames are the most budget-friendly option, while wood frames are more expensive. Custom features or energy-efficient upgrades will also increase the price. For comparison, a bay window installation typically costs between $1,000 and $7,000.

Most modern egress windows installed in basements open outward into a window well, although some older homes have in-swing windows. Egress windows, like casement windows used in other parts of the home, such as bedrooms and bathrooms, may open inward, and these windows are often larger than outward-opening windows.

Egress windows are typically required for basements with habitable space or living quarters. Not all basements or lower levels require egress windows. However, egress windows are required in homes with living spaces such as bedrooms and living rooms in a basement. The International Residential Code and International Building Code require sleeping rooms to have a specific size egress window. Check your local building codes to confirm the requirements in your area.
