"LeafFilter doesn't clean gutters, they sell and install their LeafFilter Gutter products and only clean the gutters if you buy their product. I can't even begin to afford their product so I wasn't able to get my gutter cleaned by them."

"Mr. Carrillo came to my home and we discussed everything to be done, remove old worn out gutters and replace with new gutters with metal leaf guards. Additionally his team replaced a worn Roof Vent which I purchased. There was a small fee but well worth it for me.
The team arrived on time on the date we discussed and went right to work. This job was completed in one day and I am very happy with the way it looks and the service provided. I would happily recommend Mr. Carrillo's gutter service to anyone that asked.

"I had gutters installed by Amen Gutters almost 8 years ago, and have had zero problems with the gutters. The representative was polite, prompt, and did what we agreed at the agreed-to price. He was able to install the gutters very quickly. I left home for work one day, and when I came home I had new gutters. Everything was clean & tidy--he left no trash behind. If the gutters hadn't been replaced, I'd never have known anyone was there. My neighbor watched him do the install and was impressed with his work."

Gutter Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Frequently, when water flows over gutters, it indicates a potential clog, necessitating cleaning. For instance, if a twig becomes lodged in the downspout, it can lead to a traffic jam, causing more leaves and sticks to accumulate. Another potential issue is an incorrect pitch, as gutters should channel water toward the downspout. If you observe water overflowing the end cap or leaking through it, it suggests that your gutters are improperly tilted.

There’s more to gutter cleaning services than simply scooping out fallen leaves and debris. You should consult your gutter professional about which services they’ll provide during your appointment to ensure you receive the best value for your investment.

Gutter cleaning usually consists of some basic services, including:

  • Removing debris such as leaves, twigs, pests, moss, algae, and pollen

  • Uninstall and reinstall gutter guards

  • Flush the gutter with a hose

  • Inspection for any damage or leaks

  • Recommendations for repairs

No—gutters should be designed and properly installed so they are ready to handle any level of rainflow from your roof. If you notice pooling water around your gutters or on the roof, it’s imperative that you contact a gutter repair pro near you—the slope of your gutters could be off and need adjusting.

Yes, you can use a pressure washer to effectively clean debris, dirt, and grime from your gutters, but it must be done with caution to avoid damage. Always use a low-pressure setting, with a recommended range between 1,200 and 1,800 PSI. Excessive pressure can bend or dent aluminum gutters, damage seams, peel paint, or even knock shingles off your roof, potentially leading to leaks and moisture issues. For a safer alternative, consider soft washing or cleaning them by hand. When using a pressure washer, it is safer to use gutter elbow extensions from the ground rather than climbing a ladder, as the force can cause instability. Due to the risks, you may want to hire a licensed and insured contractor for the job.

Shingle granules can be cleaned out of gutters using a small scoop or a hose, depending on the quantity of granules and how much other debris is in your gutters. First, clear your gutters of leaves and other debris. This may remove granules in the gutters if they are mixed in with the debris. Use a plastic scoop to remove larger quantities of granules or a hose with a high-powered nozzle for smaller amounts, and collect and dispose of the granules once they’ve been removed.
