Customers say: True professional

"it's a bit pricey, but if my trees are saved it'll be worth every penny. Dr. Bob was incredibly nice and he knows his stuff. After 45 years in the business I would hope he does. Another plus? He didn't treat my questions as if I were stupid. They drove from Dallas TX to my home in deep east TX a drive of over 4 hours and that was all in one day. I would definitely recommend B&W Insect control and tree service!"

"Benitez Tree and Shrub Service came and gave me a good estimate for my trees to be removed. They came the next day and had the whole service done before I got home from work. I’m happy with the results and would use them again. Highly recommend!"

"The whole experience was great. The price fit my budget. They were on time. The work was done in a timely manor. Last they cleaned up and made the yard look good as new and hauled of the tree. I will use them in the future when and if more trees fall"

"Ric and his team were amazing, I had a unique job because I didn't want the entire dead tree removed, as I had a vision for it about 10-12 ft tall. The job was completed as promised, and when I had questions after the work was finished, Ric was prompt to respond and take corrective action for a small issue."

Tree Service questions, answered by experts

It depends on the type of tree. Typically, late spring on the cusp of winter is ideal for trees about to emerge from dormancy and produce new buds. That said, late fall is ideal for certain deciduous trees prone to bleeding sap. Avoid trimming trees in early spring, when they’re prone to disease.

The best plan of action for an unhealthy or unsafe tree will depend on its condition. An arborist can recommend whether trimming or removal is the right call for your tree. Preventive tree trimming can keep trees safe and healthy, so make regular tree trimming a part of your yard maintenance plan.

An unsafe tree can cause serious damage to your home and property, so tree inspections are important to ensure your home isn’t in danger from a nearby tree. Unhealthy trees can also be unsafe trees, as diseases and insect damage can compromise a tree’s stability, leading to potential damage and safety risks.

Generally, you do not have the right to take fruit from a neighbor's tree, even if the branches overhang your property. The fruit is considered the property of the tree's owner. While you may have the right to trim branches that cross into your yard, the fruit on them typically still belongs to your neighbor. However, laws can vary by state and municipality. In some areas, branches that extend into your yard or trees that straddle a property line may entitle you to some of the fruit. The best course of action is to speak with your neighbor, as they may be happy to share. If a conversation is not possible, check your local regulations before picking any fruit.

The best time to transplant a tree is when it is dormant. For many trees, this means either in the fall after the leaves have dropped (around October or November) or in early spring before new growth begins (around March). The ideal timing can depend on the type of tree. Deciduous trees do well when moved in early spring or fall, while evergreens are best transplanted in early spring or late summer. For example, pine trees are best moved in early fall, but maples prefer late fall. Avoid transplanting in winter, as the frozen or hard, cold soil poses a significant risk to the roots and prevents the tree from acclimating properly.
