"Rudy & his team did a MARVELOUS job in "recreating" the look of my backyard (I don't recognize it lol). They replaced my old fencing and removed an old and poorly built pergola and removed and replaced decking floor with concrete. I would recommend (and have) R&D Concrete!"

"Michael Shahan, Owner replaced approximately 1200 sq. ft. of driveway. He came out and viewed the work, gave a fair price and a timeline to start the job. Michael and his crew did exactly everything he quoted and he was on site during the four days the work took. The work from start to finish was exceptional. He and his crew treated our property as if it were their own. He had all the equipment necessary to do a professional job. I have already recommended him to three of my friends and would not hesitate recommending him to anyone. It was a pleasure dealing with a contractor that was professional, honest and does want to nickel and dime you. GREAT JOB MICHAEL. THANK YOU!"

"The gentleman who provided the service for my driveway was Keith. He came all the way out from Ft Worth to Van Alstyne ( over an one hour drive) to discuss my situation. I had a dirt driveway that was not level and would retain water after a good rain. Keith was able to build the driveway up and level it. The finished product looks great. A very fair price for the quality of work. If you have any driveway needs I would give Keith a call. You will not be disappointed with their work."

Concrete Driveways questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can, but you’ll need to acquire the right pressure washer tips and cleaning solutions for the job. In particular, you’ll need tips that are capable of lowering the pressure from a max of 3,500 PSI to between 150 and 300 PSI. As for the cleaning solution, look for options that are clearly marked for soft washing rather than pressure washing.

Yes, baking soda and vinegar can remove rust from concrete. Vinegar is acidic and can remove rust stains from concrete on its own. Adding baking soda may increase abrasiveness, which could help loosen some of the stain even more when scrubbing the stain. However, a stiff-bristled brush can do the same.

Yes, most pressure washing companies use your home's water supply, typically from an outdoor spigot. However, some companies can bring their own water in a tank or truck. This is less common and may incur additional costs for filling and hauling the water. It's a good idea to ask a company which method they use when you call for a cost estimate.

The ideal PSI (pounds per square inch) for a pressure washer depends on the surface you are cleaning. For general home use, a pressure washer with a range of 2,000 to 3,000 PSI is recommended and powerful enough for most residential projects.

The specific PSI you should use varies by task:

  • High-Pressure Tasks (2,500-3,000 PSI): Tough materials like concrete, stone, masonry, and brick can handle higher pressures. This is suitable for removing stubborn stains from driveways or cleaning graffiti.

  • Low-Pressure Tasks (around 600-1,300 PSI): Softer surfaces require a gentler touch to avoid damage. Use a low PSI setting for cleaning wood decks (especially softwoods like pine and cedar), vinyl siding, outdoor furniture, and stucco.

For best results, choose the right nozzle for your surface, such as a 15-degree nozzle for siding or a surface cleaner attachment for driveways. Using an extendable wand can also make the work easier and more ergonomic.

You don't technically need to seal your driveway after pressure washing, but doing so will help keep your driveway clean for longer. The best driveway sealer depends on the type of driveway you have. To seal asphalt, consider an asphalt emulsion sealer, fast-drying sealer, or latex acrylic sealer. Concrete driveways commonly use acrylic sealers or penetrating sealers.
