"Excellent work. Everything turned out perfectly. I call Gary every year for things I need repaired & always a satisfactory completion. Prices are reasonable, labor costs always stated up front, materials prices always given. He has been on Angie's List for 2017. He should also be on the 2018 BEST list."

"Quick, easy, let me know all the way through the process how everything was going to play out. Guys were in and out with very little fuss. I hired them again for a second job a week later to cut down some more trees. Highly recommended service. Eric very easy to get a hold of."

"Last year we were very pleased with how our Christmas lights looked, and we got many compliments from neighbors and friends.  Hernan (Shine's owner) was quick to respond with the few little problems we had with lights burning out.
The window cleaning was quickly and professionally done, as was all the pressure washing.  They are now working on our Christmas lighting, which we expect to go as smoothly as last years.

"They were awesome. They worked hard and gave us a great quality roof. They had a crew out here and it only took them 1 day to complete. During the roof install, they did damage a part of our facia. We brought that up to them afterward and they came right back out, free of charge, replaced the entire facia and painted it to look brand new. We have not had any issues with our roof ever since they replaced it."

Holiday Decorating questions, answered by experts

No, you should not leave LED Christmas lights up all year. While the LED lights themselves are very durable, their wiring and casings can be as vulnerable as any Christmas lights. They’re subject to drying out, experiencing cold or sun damage that causes them to crack, and even damage caused by gnawing pests. (The same is true of incandescents.) If you want your lights to last the years that they’re rated for, bring them inside after Christmas is over.

Using a staple gun to hang Christmas lights on your roof or shingles is not recommended. Puncturing your roof with staples can cause damage, leading to cracks, leaks, and exposure to the elements. Staples are also less reliable than other methods like roof clips. For a safer alternative that won't damage your roof, use shingle tabs.

Yes, tackling blown fuses and broken light bulbs is definitely safe. Fixing the wiring on a strand of Christmas lights isn’t a good idea, though, because of the danger of shock and fire. However, if you don’t feel comfortable working with any type of electricity, consider hiring a professional Christmas light installer to manage the job safely and efficiently.

There is no formal date for Christmas light removal, but January 2 is a standard day to take them down for many homeowners. However, some homeowners’ associations have strict rules around this topic, mandating that residents remove lights no later than two weeks after Christmas. Check with your local association or community for more information.

Cold weather can cause older incandescent Christmas lights to fail by causing cracks in the finish or the glass itself. Modern LED lights are affected in the opposite way and perform even better as the temperature drops.
