"Danny and his two sons Corey and Ryan, were very professional and did great work. Took out a 50 year old bathtub and replaced it with a walk—in shower. They cleaned up after themselves everyday and arrived on time each day. I would highly recommend them if you want the job done right."

"They are good quality windows and their customer service was great. However a little pricey. The window latch broke after a couple months and it took seven months to get it because they claimed they discontinued the windows. How am I to get a lifetime warranty on a discontinued window? And 6 months to replace a latch. Scary. I do like the windows but I will not do this again for the other windows due to price and length it took to get broken latch fixed. Not sure how good the warranty actually is"

"Working with Steve Hill Homes was a very good experience. It was easy to communicate with Steve and receive feedback about how to proceed with the project, the timeline, and he was quick to respond about what the cost would be. When it was necessary for us to meet, I could depend on him to be there, and my phone calls were always answered with a friendly, helpful response. I felt comfortable letting this company complete my project because of Steve’s experience and home building knowledge."

"The work that was done was great! Everyone was very professional and worked with me throughout the entire process. Most importantly they stuck with the amount that was quoted. No new fees occurred! The only down side, as with any contractor, it was not completed on time. We asked it to be done by December the 18th (started in October) or wait until after the new year. It wasn't completed until March. So, plan accordingly! Bottom line, we have a beautiful bathroom that we love. 4 after pictures and 3 before:"

"This is the 2nd job we’ve hired Radiant Builders to do. They didn’t disappoint! Kitchen cabinets refinished, new countertops and backsplash. It turned out much better than expected since we didn’t buy new cabinets. Very professional and quality of work was great!"

"WE bought this apartment/town home and needed the Builders Report to be taken care of.  Mr. Paul Pena, the company's owner, went over the report with us. He then submitted a written estimate for the repair cost within 2 days.  We agreed to this and his company stated work the following day. The remodel did cost more and took longer than we estimated. The reason this happened was unexpected repairs. They were a condensation leak from the air conditioning unit that required new plumbing line and the replacement of rotted sheet rock, texture and new base boards. Then there was the damage found when we removed some kitchen cabinets. This was caused by the windows, over the kitchen/dining room, that had slipped down , due to rotting. So... the windows had to be repaired and sealed, then the sheet rock in the kitchen ceiling had to replaced and textured. We also decied to move the laundry connections from the 2nd floor bathroom down to the original laundry room. This also involved more sheet rock, texture and plumbing costs.Overall we could not be happier with the results.  We also feel that we have made new friends with the owner and all of his helpers."

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

The cost to install a shower or a tub is roughly the same. Shower installation costs range from $2,400 to $8,800 and vary depending on the type and size, materials used, and the complexity of the features. For similar reasons, the average bathtub cost can range from $2,000 to $9,400.

Yes, $5,000 is a healthy budget for a DIY bathroom renovation. It can go a long way in making the space more accessible and stylishly spa-like. Providing you stick to modest materials and don’t make any major plumbing or structural changes, you can upgrade fixtures, retile, and add some stylish bathroom accessories and savvy storage solutions to maximize the space.

If your bathtub is in overall good shape with minor scratches, discoloration, or just general wear and tear, it's best (and less expensive) to refinish it.

If your tub has large cracks, is leaking, or is otherwise severely damaged, we recommend replacing it with a new bathtub. Refinishing a bathtub can only fix superficial problems, so these issues will still be present or reappear after a refinishing.

You should consider replacing your bathtub if the tub—or any potential refinishing—is older than about 20 years old. However, acrylic and fiberglass bathtubs have a shorter lifespan (about 10 to 15 years). You may decide to replace your bathtub sooner if there are stains or mold you can’t get rid of, no matter how much you clean it, or if you find leaks and cracks that could lead to costly water damage.

If your tub is attached to the wall, the best material will be one that can be shaped to fit your space perfectly. A cast-polymer, acrylic, or fiberglass tub will likely be the easiest to install as a built-in because it can be designed to fit your space.
