We are a small company the consists of only three employees. We normally do all the work required on a jobsite unless a third party is required for other services we don't offer. A concrete overlay should be 1/4 of an inch to 2 inches thick to form a strong layer on top of a base slab. The thickness depends on the condition of the existing concrete and the depth of your design and imprints. You should repair and clean the surface before applying a primer and a layer of fresh concrete.

For thin driveway cracks that aren’t widening or lengthening, a polyurethane crack filler is usually the best way to seal the crack and prevent further damage from water and ice. The biggest downside to resurfacing concrete is its lifespan. Concrete resurfacing lasts for five to ten years, on average, while a new concrete slab would last for 20 to 30. The cost of concrete resurfacing is much lower, but you get more value from full replacement. Resurfacing also doesn’t address any underlying issues with your slab, so you may need additional repairs, like mudjacking.

Because it’s faster and uses less materials and energy, resurfacing a driveway is more eco-friendly than replacing it. However, that doesn’t mean it’s always the best option. When deciding between driveway resurfacing vs. replacing, it’s important to consider the age of your driveway and the level of damage. In some cases, replacing it may be a better choice for your budget.

You can pour concrete over existing concrete and then stamp it to create an overlay. The old concrete must be prepared correctly for the new concrete to adhere properly and create a strong, stable surface. Stamping the new concrete creates a patterned finish that adds visual interest and an upscale feel.
