"Steve was very responsive in returning my calls. Called when he was on his way to my house. He gave me an estimate and within 10 days the new glass was in my windows. He and his partner were very nice and did a great job installing the glass and cleaning up."

"A representative came to the house the morning of Aug 9th, looked at the job and wrote up an estimate, and collected a deposit. He scheduled the job the next week, but called me shortly after leaving and said a crew would be available later that afternoon, so I scheduled the visit for 2 p.m. Got a call from Jeremiah several minutes before 2p to let me know the truck had a flat and they were waiting on the interstate for a repair service, but could still make the appointment. He called back later to apologize because repairs could not be made at the scene so they would not be able to keep the appointment. I understood; the temperature was into the 3-digits that day. The next day I was rescheduled for the 19th at 9 a.m., and Jeremiah and Billy arrived on time and performed the job in about 45 minutes. The deal was $50 off the normal cost. Not being aware of the cost of glass or for this type service, I was surprised at the total, but cannot really say whether this was a fair price or not. The service was good, responsive, and the representatives were very polite."

"The company did a really nice job at repairing the chimney. They were not wasteful with materials and did a great job at cleaning up the project site. Due to the nature of the job I was also assured they would work with me if any issues come up; Good hire!!!"

"
I had called 2 other companies and they were quite a bit higher and also I would have had to take the truck to their place of business. Jerry fit us in his very busy schedule and came to our house. The window was repaired quickly and works perfect. Jerry and his associate were very friendly and worked quickly. His price was quite a bit lower than the other 2 bids. I will recommend him to anyone."

"They showed up on time and were very easy to talk to.  The work was done exactly as asked, with no alterations in the price agreed on.  The wall looks great and I am very pleased with the work done, and the skill it took to create it."

Glass Block questions, answered by experts

New glass costs anywhere from $3 to $100 per square foot. More specifically, tempered and insulated glass—a common option for sliding glass doors—costs between $10 and $14 per square foot.

Luckily, glass block windows need minimal maintenance. Other than regular cleaning, the only maintenance involved in having a glass block window is inspecting for cracks every year and applying sealer to the mortar joints if the blocks are set in masonry mortar. Glass block windows hold up well against wind and moisture better than traditional windows and are not prone to rot.

Although glass block windows are made of multiple layers of thick glass, they can still break. If an individual block shatters, it can be removed and replaced, but this is a job for a window repair professional. The project is often complex and may require breaking the block further for removal. Do not attempt to handle it yourself, as the broken glass can be dangerously sharp. A professional will have the necessary tools and expertise to replace the broken glass block quickly and safely. Before hiring, confirm that the repair pro has experience with this specific type of window.

Regular cleaning with non-abrasive cleaners helps prevent buildup and maintains clarity.

Glass block windows aren’t fire hazards; fire-rated glass block windows can increase your home’s fire safety. Modern glass blocks are made with materials that can resist high temperatures and prevent fire spread. Most offer a 45-minute fire rating, while some increase it to two hours. Compared to the typical 20 to 90 minute rating for a double-pane window, glass block can increase your home’s safety in the event of a fire.
