"About four years ago, I had my sewer line cleaned by another local company. At that time, the person doing the cleaning bent his augur on â somethingâ and drew back mud. He told me that they would have to rip down my retaining wall and repair my line as â itâ s broken and you need a new sewer lineâ . Being retired and disabled, I was not able to afford it, so I bought a hand augur and did my own line but I could never get past 30 feet in doing the line. Lately there has been more back up and the line was not draining much at all. I called in a national company to clean the line and they also suggested running the camera down it and seeing where the damage---possible collapsed clay pipe?â was. After analyzing reviews online for trenchless sewer repair, as I did not want to rip down an over 100 year old stone retaining wall, I decided to call Gardner Plumbing and have them camera the line. The sewer was full of water to the top of the floor drain, and when Kevin came out he meticulously augured that sewer line for close to four and a half hours until it was clear and even made it to the main sewer line under the street. In doing so, he removed an unbelievable long thick root that was in the line that I can best describe as looking like a root from a Redwood tree! He then ran the camera as far as he could and there was no damage at all to the line: a few cracks, but no damage/breakage whatsoever! Instead of costing thousands of dollars to replace the line, I was charged a reasonable amount for the augur of the line and the camera. I highly praise this work that Kevin did and I thank him and Gardner Plumbing for being honest and not immediately trying to convince me on getting a new sewer line when I didnâ t really need to replace it. I will use this company in the future and will tell my neighbors about the greatâ and honestâ work that Gardner did. Thank you Gardner, you have a new happy customer now! ï"

"We highly recommend AFS for waterproofing a crawlspace. AFS encapsulated our crawlspace on our new construction home and installed a sump pump and dehumidifier in the crawlspace. The install crew (Tim - Foreman, Trent, CJ and John) was very prompt, courteous and professional. They explained everything about their work, and thoroughly cleaned up the worksite. "I was charged $395 for a Big Blue filter housing installed by Aqua Clear Water System that replaced one that failed (sprang a leak). (This has nothing to do with the fact I change my own filters so any implication that it does is simply dishonest.) I later discovered that the identical filter housing also manufactured by Big Blue is available at The Home Depot for $69.95 and for $59.95 from Isopure Water. The Aqua Clear price of $395 did not include tools or other parts, nor did it include the service call fee and labor charge of $185. Despite the Aqua Clear general manager’s claim that his service fee is in the middle of the pack for Knoxville, others I called (Pipe Wrench, Hiller and Tennessee Standard Plumbing) charge between $39 and $69 and those fees are typically deducted from the bill. The Aqua Clear service technician told me that because the filter housing was just a few days out of warranty there would be no charge. Despite his good intentions, the general manager told him to charge the entire $395, pushing my bill to $580. So there was no transparent pricing and I did not agree to the charge prior to the work being performed. In fact, I was shocked that I was being charged hundreds of dollars for what is essentially a big plastic threaded cup that sells for hundreds less at other retailers. After some haggling, I was able to get the bill reduced to $480, which I think is still unreasonable. The quality of the work, especially where the technician was concerned, wasn't the issue. I have no problem paying more than is customary for high-quality work I can trust, but I do object to price gouging and deception."

"I called on a Friday and he was able to come that Monday. He is very straight forward and honest. He took the time to explain things and how to prevent it in the future. Our tank was located under a deck so there was extra work involved for which he did not charge for. I was very impressed with the hard work put forth and he drained not only the wastewater but the sludge. This is important because there are others who will only pull off the wastewater and not the rest, so be certain who you choose. We chose well."
