Your door sweep should be replaced every three years or sooner if it’s in poor condition. Signs it’s time to replace your sweep include visible damage or an increase in cold drafts. This is also a good time to redo the weather stripping on the door, which should also be replaced every three years.

To reset cabinet doors, start by loosening the hinge screws slightly. Align the door properly with the cabinet frame, ensuring even gaps around the edges. Tighten the screws to hold the position. The new door has to match the old one in width, height, and thickness, and the hinge and knob placements need to line up or be adjusted carefully. However, if your frame is damaged, swapping just the door won’t cut it. In that case, replacing the entire unit would be the best move for a smooth, secure installation.
