"WOW! they exceeded my expectations in so many ways - from the initial contact with customer service to the technician and to the installation team. They are very competent, professional, well trained and customer oriented. I read their contract which was short, easy to understand and fair. If they were a public company I would buy their stock!"

"The drain has worked thus far but the first large rain washed the plastic grate away but was recovered. I am disappointed in the quality of the seeding and straw cover as being inadequate as there was a lot of mud left after the driveway powerwash part of the job and I purchased additional seed and straw to complete the cover up. I am concerned my original grass may have been destroyed by the grader and may have to hire a landscaper in the Spring to fix the problem. But, the drain seems to be working as most of the water problem during the past two large rainfalls appears to have been greatly reduced. Thanks."

"I called on a Friday and he was able to come that Monday. He is very straight forward and honest. He took the time to explain things and how to prevent it in the future. Our tank was located under a deck so there was extra work involved for which he did not charge for. I was very impressed with the hard work put forth and he drained not only the wastewater but the sludge. This is important because there are others who will only pull off the wastewater and not the rest, so be certain who you choose. We chose well."

"Prompt and professional service, the crew were very friendly and polite, they completed the work as contracted in less than 4 hours. We had 3 beams and 9 jacks installed. They were careful to protect our hardwood floors and cleaned after installation. Our only criticism is the crew were not wearing masks and our door was frequently left open."

"We had a very good experience with Mr. Ashe's service.

As soon as we moved into a house, we noticed a groundhog in the backyard. Once contacted, Mr. Ashe came out promptly for evaluation and estimate. We asked him to start trapping in a few days for 5 consecutive days. One day before his first trapping, we noticed squirrels. With this finding, he placed traps for both groudhog and squirrels without extra fees.

He came out every morning to check on traps and removed animals. When a skunk was caught to our surprise, he volunteered to come out for an extra 5 days, again without additional fees.

His service was not just for trapping and removal of animals but involved evaluation of backyard fences and porch. He advised us on how to patch potential portal of entry of animals. Based on his advice, we had a contractor install rubber and wire guard below the porch and in the lower portion of fence. We have not seen any unwanted animals since. If we are to have any wildlife issues in the future, we will be contacting classic wildlife control without hesitation!"

"The first one they ordered was the wrong kind so this delayed the installation. The plumbing company they used had to come back after the installation because there was a leak at the wall. Thank goodness it was in the garage. I was not happy that I had to pay an additional $850 for code upgrades which were not covered by my policy."

Drain Pipe Installation questions, answered by experts

Yes, flushing a clogged toilet can make it overflow. While flushing the toilet may push enough pressure through the system to dislodge the clog, this is unlikely. Your best bet is to use a plunger and hope the suction can break up whatever is blocking the pipe. If this doesn’t work, use a plumbing auger or call a pro to help.

The first rule of plumbing is nothing but water, toilet paper, number one, and number two go down the drain.

To prevent clogs, get yourself:

  • A compast pail where you can clean plates, drain grease, and toss scraps and paper towels.

  • Drain screens for the shower, tub, and bathroom sink to stop hair, jewelry, toys, etc. from going down the drain.

  • Trash cans for everything that shouldn’t go down the drain, like dental floss, hygiene products, and cat litter.

P.S.: If you do drop your priceless ring down the drain, take a deep breath, and then follow these steps to retrieve jewelry from your drain.

Some homeowners use additives every month to help septic system performance, but according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the effectiveness of septic system and leach field additives is unknown. Further, additives made with organic solvents or alkali chemicals can actually be harmful to the necessary bacteria in a septic system.

Professional tools include drain snakes, hydro jets, cameras for line inspection, and enzymatic or chemical cleaners for dissolution.

Boiling water helps unclog a drain, but usually only with a harder abrasive such as baking soda or vinegar. On its own, it isn’t the most effective tool. In addition, you shouldn’t use boiling water if you have PVC pipes, as it can soften or melt them. Use a plunger or enlist the help of a pro if you have plastic pipes.
