"Wes and his guys did a FANTASTIC job. They removed trees, ground stumps and then excavated my yard where Knox County had messed it up putting in a sidewalk. I can now mow my yard with riding mower as opposed to weed eater. I would not hesitate to call and use again."

"Liz and Team were very courteous and professional. They arrived at our home on time, took great care with our property and did a fabulous job with our front landscaping. I look forward to working with them again for future landscaping and hardscaping projects. We have already received multiple compliments from our neighbors and itâ s only been 24 hours since installation! Thanks again Liz and Team!"

"Prompt…courteous and thoroughly professional. Nick’s crew arrived on time every day…worked an entire day….and cleaned up and hauled all trash away. It was obvious to us from the start that they were top line professionals and the deck they built for us reflects that. We would recommend (already have) them without hesitation!!! /D. "First off I’d like to say I’m a very picky person and typically do everything myself, but a friend recommended landesman lawn care and assured me they were what I was looking for. And boy did they exceed my expectations! Very clean, precise and professional work with a great attitude aswell! Safe to say I’ve found my permanent landscapers, thanks Jesse!"

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

Yes, it is possible to add too little mulch. Anything less than 1 inch will likely result in too little coverage around your plants, allowing weeds to grow through and minimizing the positive effects that a deeper bed of mulch would have, like maintaining proper soil moisture and insulating the ground.

If you use the wrong plants for your gardening zone, you’ll likely get less than desirable yields from them. In some cases, your plants can even die. It’s important to ensure that your plants are able to survive in your hardiness zone before getting them into the ground.

Lakefront landscaping offers benefits such as enhancing aesthetic appeal, increasing property value, supporting ecological balance, and providing recreational opportunities while preserving the shoreline's natural beauty.

Yes, you can absolutely transplant bushes instead of removing them completely. The success depends on the size of the bushes, their age, and the transplanting season. Ideally, transplant during the dormant season (late fall or winter). Dig out the entire root system in one piece, fill the new hole with fresh soil and mulch, and water thoroughly after planting.

The truth is, there really is no such thing as a 100% deer-proof plant. Deer will decimate even the prickliest flora if they’re hungry enough. However, there are plenty of beautiful plants that deer don’t necessarily enjoy. These include thistles, wisteria vines, sword ferns, and beautyberries.

Deer are herbivores, and they love vegetable gardens as much as Peter Rabbit. If you don’t want to fence in your entire property, consider creating an attractive raised-bed veggie garden with mesh fencing around it to keep out deer and other critters.
