Where do I begin? DMC Outdoor Living company has been an absolute pleas to work with. This company has truly been a blessing to our family and our pool needs! This company came in and did a spectacular job in time and with professionalism daily. Mr. David Brakebill (owner) and his supervisor, Brad have worked with us throughout the entire process, always explaining every step of the way. Before any job was performed, the explanation came first. They were so wonderful in helping out with any pool/paver needs. We were truly new to all of this, but with David help, it was the best experience we have ever had with a contractor. One can understand that contractors sometimes do not say what they are going to do, but DMC OUTDOOR LIVING COMPANY proves that to be wrong. They always came out at the time they said they would be there and always explained the details of the job that day. The place now looks like it came out of a magazine. The most beautiful backyard you’ll ever see, thanks to Mr. David Brakebill (owner) and his team. If I could give this company a 10-stars, this company deserves just that! Also, understand that David and his team came in after the pool was installed and installed all of the pavers, did all of the landscaping, the rock wall, not to mention all of the trees, mulching and over 60 flowers! This company does it all.

Terribly. Job wasn’t finished by him or the pool contractor who hired him. Poor job, no craftsman shop to their work. Used crap materials and the coping is already popping off the side of our spa. This job is having to be completely redone a professional. Avoid using at all cost. Said he would come back multiple times to finish work he was paid for and never did.

"ms evan we had no control over your materials that was between you and your pool contractor that filed bankruptcy before paying us and providing the things to finish your job and we warned them about the spa and coping not being a good fit they didn't listen sorry your upset but we had no control over it we were doing what your contractor told us to do and they failed to finish paying us or provided extra materials to finish"

Do not let David install a lawn sprinkler system at your house if you are served by First Utility District. Our water was nearly turned off and we had to get an extension so that another contractor could fix his non-compliance. He promised to fix the problem but never showed up. First Utility District requires the back flow preventer be installed within 5 feet of the water meter.

"That's not fair or accurate. We're the ones who filed for your extension. I told you I called and left several messages that I could not get out there before their deadline. So I called them and told them that we could not make it. Please extend the deadline. I sent Brad out there Saturday of last week. And you had already had someone else do it. I apologize that you didn't think we were going to do it, but I told you we would take care of it. I'm happy to reimburse you. Whatever it cost to have someone else. Move the backflow, but first utility changed their policies, and that is not our fault. I apologize and I will happily take care of it for you. But you have to communicate with me."

Dave and his crew were a pleasure to work with. They kept me advised on a daily basis about the work to be done. Dave goes above and beyond to make things right. Hired David Brakebill to do a new construction landscaping project based on the recommendation of my builder. He quoted me a price which we agreed on and asked for a deposit check to buy materials. I paid him 10K. He initially came onsite to begin the work. Unfortunately, he only completed about 5% of the total project and never came back to finish over a number of months. He took my money and never came to finish the job. I am currently suing him in small claims court. In the process of doing that, I have learned this is a common M.O for him. He will agree to do jobs and ask for deposits to buy materials, do a little work but never come back to complete...then when he gets sued, he loses, files bankruptcy and start all over again with a new company name. Check the BBB for him...look at the negative reviews on here....its clear this is how this man operates. Updated 1/22/25 UPDATE from previous review dated 7/24: Mr. Brakebill indicated in his response that there are two sides to a story. He is correct. One of the sides is the correct side. In this case, no one has to take my word for it. The Civil Court of Sevier County awarded a judgement in the case for all monies requested. Case # 24-C-111736. Additionally, consider Mr. Brakesbill's own words...in this email dated 4/2024: I never thought I would walk away from this .I know I owe you and the few post you have seen don't represent who I am I had an extremely bad time in 2023 not your vault or problem .I have ever intention of refunding your **** dollars I was already hoping to have it too I've been waiting on a check a guy owes me for like 2 weeks now as soon as I have it I'll get you some money .but didn't matter if you've filed suit I'll get you paid before we ever go to court To date, I have not received any refund from this crook. Beware....this is not an honest person!.

"your post is so one sided you should list all the facts 1.we gave you a bid on your project based on the design you provided original bid was for 31383.00 you responded that was more than you could do you asked what we could do for 20k.we revised the plan with you and made some changes the biggest one replacing the lava rock with river rock you were told up front the only [Member Information Removed] to make the budget work is if we got the stone straight from the wholesale supplier New port sand and gravel there price was 65.00 dollars a ton everybody else wanted 165 a ton you needed 58 tons. 2. you gave us a deposit of 10k we came out there and built a fire pit installed a paver walk [Member Information Removed] and paver patio total for those items where 6k.we also raked your yard free of sticks and rocks seed and strawed fixed drainage that was not done correctly installed 2 stone steps and fixed stone and put stone caps on your wall that were done by others incorrectly you asked us to fix. Your builder was supposed to pay us for these items totaling more than 5k but he only paid us 1900.00 . 3. 1 month went bye you called me because you were upset that nothing else has been done, I drove an 1hr and 45 min to meet you. I called new port sand and gravel to ask them when they could deliver with you standing beside me with them on speaker and you heard them say no clue we were on the list.so a week later you send me an email about changing some of the stone to blue chip marble and doing some of the landscaping while we wait on the stone we set a date but the week we set it snowed 8inches you live on top of a [Member Information Removed] no [Member Information Removed] we were coming but before we could do anything you fired us and started making accusations I have no doubt it cost you more to have someone else finish the job because we tried to help you do it for the lowest price we could but you knew that going in to it. 4.you almost bankrupted your builder and you owe the stonemason 40k but there are 2 sides 2 every story so I wont say this is your Mo"

David was very detailed in his assessment of what needed to be done to solve our issues with proper drainage. We had 3 other estimates with only one of those competitive with David’s price. We decided to go with David because his solution was the least intrusive to the property as a whole while solving the drainage issues. Overall, the professionalism of David and his team along with the excellent results of their work would give me good reason to recommend DMC Outdoor Living to anyone wanting a solid job completed by a competent work group.
