"I was advised that the house had recently passed a VA inspection and that VA inspections are stringent. Turns out they are not stringent or comprehensive. They check for obvious safety issues and thatâ s about it. The inspector will glance up at the roof and poke his head into the crawl space. Thankfully, I was compelled to look up what a VA loan inspection required and felt that I had been misled to believe that the house would pass any inspection. Lodestar did a thorough inspection from above the house, throughout the house and under the house. 118 items were inspected. I learned that had I accepted the VA inspection I would be stuck with damage resulting from poor construction, standing water in the crawl space and other critical problems that had to be addressed. I am well pleased with the inspection and relieved that the inspection revealed so many problems that no one would expect a house less than ten years old to have.
