Small jobs welcome

"Steve and Jim were on time, their work was extremely professional, knowledgeable; and took great care to not disturb or damage my home and property. They dropped the tree, removed the wood and debris and cleaned the area with great care. I've had other tree people before, but Better Tree Service did outstanding work. I WILL contract with them again when needed."

"Very responsive to request for a quote. Same day service which was very welcome. I have used Brock before and, once again, he did an excellent job! I would recommend him to anyone else who is interested in this service without reservation. Many thanks to him! Below is an “after pic” and before was a row of 12 stumps of various sizes."

"Freddy was so very kind and professional I told him that I wanted a certain tree cut down and he instead offered to just cut the more rotten limbs and shape up the rest So I agreed and the tree turned out so beautifully I’m so glad I took his advice I will definitely have him come back again and do some more tree work for me Additionally his office kept in touch with me from start to finish to make sure everything was going to my satisfaction Thanks so much! "I’ve used several tree services in Knoxville through the many years (including some of the big ones) but this One is the best! What a good feeling to have a company do what they say they will and actually do it and then at a reasonable price! I highly recommend!"

Arborists questions, answered by experts

As a general rule, the protected area should be about 1½ times as wide as the canopy of the tree’s leaves. This digging measurement can vary by tree species and the age of the tree. Of course, that can be a lot of fencing for larger trees, which is why our first step is about making difficult decisions on which trees to save.

Yes, it can be good to remove dead branches from trees. Dead branches can lead to rot in other areas of the tree. They can also cause damage if they fall on a house, shed, fence, car, pool, or other structure or property. However, it’s important that dead branch removal is done safely. If the branch is high in a tree or requires a lift or ladder to access, consider calling a professional tree removal company, as they will have the experience and equipment to do the job safely.

It can take anywhere from one month to a couple of years for tree roots to grow back in sewer lines. Tree roots can cause extreme havoc on your sewer lines, potentially cracking them and causing untreated wastewater to make its way into the groundwater. Have a landscaping pro remove trees and roots before installing your system, or call a pro to do it retroactively as soon as you can.

The exact answer to this question depends on which region of the country you’re talking about, but according to various tree counts, some of the most common types of trees in the United States include red maple, Douglas fir, quaking aspen, loblolly pine, and sweetgum.

Hiring an arborist costs around $900 on average, with prices ranging from $250 to $2,500 or more. Some arborists charge an hourly rate, typically between $100 and $350 per hour.
