"Claudia + Socorro did a fabulous job on my 2100 sq ft 1955 ranch! This house needed a great deep clean as it was a little musty with cobwebs, dingy appliances and dirty windowsills. I knew she was serious when she pulled out the fridge to clean every nook and cranny in and around the kitchen! There were 1970's stickers in the bathtub- they pulled those out and the tub is sparkling like new. I asked for baseboards, walls, window sills, cabinets, counters, closets and they did it all with a great price. She was quick to call back with great communication and right on time when they were to begin. I would recommend Nushy's Cleaning Services to anyone looking for a move in/move out deep clean."

Small jobs welcome

"Hasan arrived on time, worked quickly and efficiently. His professionalism is unmatched. He cleaned our window interior and exterior. Hasan was great with our dog who was more excited for the service than we were! Our little pup followed him around the whole time. I would recommend Johnstons Pristine Services to everyone, people I know and hellâ ¦ even strangers. The best of the best. Thank you"

Window Cleaning questions, answered by experts

It depends on the surface you’re trying to clean. For example, a mixture of vinegar and water is a good option for a deep cleaning, including removing hard water stains from glass or stainless steel. However, vinegar is too acidic for granite and other types of natural stone, so it’s better to use a combination of baking soda and water on those surfaces.

Generally speaking, you should clean your windows and any associated fixtures and treatments every six months. Otherwise, clean them as needed to keep everything running smoothly. If you live in a part of the country with especially hard water, you may have to clean them three or four times per year, and the same goes for areas where insects, pollen, dirt, and other debris can soil your windows and potentially cause issues with the moving parts.

For a standard 1,000-square-foot home, you should expect your window cleaner to take between 1 and 3 hours to clean all of your windows. Of course, the size of your home and the number and size of the windows you have will play a role in the timeline. Certain styles of windows—like picture windows, which have no moving parts—also take less time to clean.

Yes, professional window cleaners will clean the surface of the glass on both the inside and the outside. They will usually clean the tracks for your windows, check and clean the weatherstripping, and even disassemble parts of your window, if necessary, to clean and lubricate interior components and moving parts.

The best thing to clean windows with is a mixture of white vinegar, warm water, and dish soap. This will remove dirt, pollen, and grime without destroying any tints or protective films on your glass. You can also use a commercial window cleaner, but make sure to choose one that doesn’t have ammonia in it, as this can damage window coverings and frame materials over time.
