"Contractor Mid-South Concrete & Excavating A few days before 5-8-2025, my wife Doris J. Selvage contacted Angie for someone to level our front yard. Mid-South Concrete & Excavating was recommended. They came out on 5-7-2025 and level our front yard then recommended that we let them put down sod to prevent the new dirt from washing away went it rains. We agreed to pay the additional amount to allow them to put sod down. We paid $1,350 for the front yard, got a receipt on 5-8-2025 and all was good. Joseph Gordon s father David Gordon did the front yard and saw the driveway was cracked and said his son could fix it at reasonable price. I got the quote on the two slabs of concrete from Joseph Gordon and it was a little less than the quote I already had from another contractor. So I agreed to let Mid-South Concrete do the two slabs of concrete. The day Joseph came out to start the removal on the two slabs of concrete, he said he could do the slab of concrete near the street for an additional $1,100 plus $200 for another new culvert pipe. I agreed. He showed me a fourth slab needed to be replaced too. I asked what is lowest you could do this fourth slab for? He said $1,000. I said ok. After removing this slab, he said the next two would most likely need to be replaced because of erosion underneath. I said, I am tapped out. He told my wife Doris J. Selvage he could do the fifth and sixth slabs for $2,500. She agreed to pay the $2,500, so I said ok. Joseph started removing the fifth and sixth slabs and discovered the sixth slab was thicker than the 4 on the other slabs. I believed he discovered he had under bid for the last slab and then tried to make up for it and then said, I will do the whole drive way for $10,000. I did the math and things didn t add up. So I confronted him about it. I told him the numbers added up to $8,500 plus $200 for the new culvert pipe. He then became upset, used profanity in front of my grandson and said he would not do another once of work unless I paid him in full. So I gave him the last $5,200, I had already paid him $. 2,500 twice. I requested the Medina Building Inspector come out the next day because he had failed to call 811 before digging in the yard. The building inspector told me people from the power company got on his case for not calling 811 before digging. The next day in front of the Medina City Building Inspector and two Medina City Police Officers, he used profanity again after my wife asked him not to. This got my wife upset and she collapsed on our front yard. He said he would return my money by putting a check in the mail on 5-21-2025. I stated that he should be returning half of my money since only half of the job was done. He said he and his secretary would be itemizing what was done to see how much he would return. He failed to itemized on the invoice like I asked him, so I don t know how he can accurate itemize now. Half of the job was done so half of the money needs to be returned. I wished I had stayed with the first contractor!"

At Mr. Foundation, also known as DFX Foundation & Waterproofing Experts, we don't just repair homes; we restore peace of mind. Operating across various markets in Arkansas, Mississippi, and Tennessee, our company was founded on the principle that expertise and ethics come first. Unlike typical businesses led by sales targets, our roots are firmly planted in engineering excellence and a commitment to genuine solutions. Our team specializes in a comprehensive range of services, including professional foundation repair, basement waterproofing, crawl space repair and encapsulation, as well as concrete repair and lifting. But what truly sets us apart is our approach. We see each home as a unique project and each client as a valued partner.
"I live in an antebellum house, built in 1837. Over the past 175 years some of the bricks underneath the fireplace in the living room and gathering room had crumbled. The floor needed repairs and leveling. I contacted 4 companies to evaluate the problem and develop a solution. Luke Griffin, with Mr. Foundation, was the only person who actually went under the house and took pictures of the problem for us to see. We were able to see what was happening at the fireplaces. He then studied the problem and the next day offered us a solution. They came and installed steel beams with stainless steel jacks, leveled the floors and resolved the problem. I tell people an elephant now could jump up and down on the floors. Would I recommend Mr. Foundation?? 100%!!! And, FYI, their price was considerably less than two of the other companies."

Individually owned business with two employees. I do also do some sub-contracting on certain jobs. I've been in this line of work for 10 years. My business is also listed on other sites like google, thumbtack, and home advisor. I accept checks and credit cards as well as cash. I do not expect full payment up front. My rule is I get some up front and the rest can be paid in throughout the job and the rest be paid upon completion.

Yes, installing a patio will usually improve home value, as outdoor entertainment areas are usually quite desirable and make your home more visually appealing. A paver patio usually comes with an impressive ROI of around 80%, while concrete patios should fall between 60% and 70%. Paver patios are considered more desirable and valuable because most home buyers prefer how they look, and they won’t raise your property taxes as a permanent concrete patio would.
Most professionals will take two to three weeks to install a patio and return your yard to its previous condition. The timeline for your patio installation will depend on several factors, though, including landscaping features your installer needs to navigate around, the type of patio you’re having installed, and how long any add-ons, like outdoor kitchens, take to complete. The size of your patio will also play a role in how long it takes, so plan to keep pets and children out of your yard for longer if you’re installing an oversized patio.
The average cost of a paver patio is around $3,800 for a standard, 280-square-foot patio, but prices commonly range from $2,400 up to $7,000, depending on the size, the type of paver you choose, and any add-ons you opt for. The design and shape of your patio can also increase labor costs if your patio installer needs to cut curves in pavers or spend time arranging them in a specific pattern. Some additional costs to consider include site preparation and excavation, as well as additional materials, like concrete, crushed gravel, and drainage equipment.
Some types of patios—usually those that require a concrete foundation—will need permits, while others—like paver patios, which aren’t considered permanent additions—generally do not. However, there are exceptions based on the size of your patio and where you live. We recommend having a professional patio installer determine whether you need permits. Your installer will also be able to pull permits for you, saving you time and energy.
