"Bruce responded to my request very quickly to repair a louver door. He came in about two hours after my call. He determined the problem with the door and was able to fix it. I admire his tenacity while he was working. He did an excellent job. I will definitely call him for any future needs with home improvements. Bruce is a very pleasant person to work with. Thank you. "An actual employee of the company answered my phone call every time I called them. The crew showed up exactly when they were supposed to. Zack and Yancy kept me up to date every step of the way and were very professional and kind. They were so clear in explaining what was going on, I never had to ask any questions. The work was done quickly and properly. They cleaned all the mess up. I am pretty sure my floor was cleaner after they left than before they got there."

My name is Joshua Hale. I am the owner and operator of Helping Hand Handyman. I've been a resident to the area all of my life. I'm married to my beautiful wife Elizabeth. We raised seven children together. I really enjoy working for clients and helping to build their dreams. Whatever they may be. It's not just about the money, but about the experience for me. I really enjoy helping people and solving problems. There's not much I can't do when it comes to your homestead. Everything from the ground up. Electrical, plumbing, excavating, carpentry, any and all of your needs I can probably take care of. Thanks for your consideration and I look forward to meeting you. " When you need a helping hand. Call the Helping Hand Handyman". God bless.

"Mr. Bean did a very professional job of all cleaning aspects, including removing the mold and mildew from a black canvas awning that presented the problem of not being able to use bleach to remove the mold and mildew. He was very concerned in adequately cleaning the awning without discoloration. He was able to do by thoroughly cleaning using steam. Driveway, soffet and guttering look new! Not only was his service the most reasonably priced, it was professional and he showed up when scheduled. I would definitely use his service again. Wish there was a higher rating than an A!"

"I hired Mesa Family Staffing Agency for a general cleaning and I was extremely impressed with the results. They spent about six hours working through every room with great attention to detail. The team was professional, friendly, and efficient. My home looked fresh, organized, and spotless when they finished. For $260, the quality of the service was absolutely worth it. I will definitely hire them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for reliable, high-quality cleaning."

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Yes. Freestanding or floating decks are exactly what the name implies—structures with their own support beams. You can build a deck yourself and place it next to a house for the illusion of a connected deck without the hassle. Or you can construct it in a separate part of your yard for a dedicated outdoor entertainment space. For the purpose of removing a freestanding deck, the steps are the same as an attached deck, but you don’t have to cut the deck away from the home.

Pressure-treated wood contains preservatives that give the material internal protection from rot and pests. Untreated lumber won’t last more than a few years unless you choose a more expensive wood, like cedar, that naturally stands up well to moisture. Composite decking can outlast wood but is more expensive and doesn’t look as natural. Keep in mind that you’ll need to seal any exterior wood product to protect it from the elements and other forms of external damage.

The proper height for a stair riser or deck step is between four and seven inches, with seven inches often considered the most comfortable. Building your stairs to this height ensures a strain-free step position and minimizes the risk of trip and fall injuries. For optimal safety and comfort, especially on deck stairs, a rise of around seven inches should be paired with a tread depth (or run) of at least 10 to 12 inches. While it is possible to design stairs with risers up to 12 inches, this height can be challenging for children, pets, or individuals with mobility issues. Always check with your local building codes, as they may mandate specific dimensions that differ from these general recommendations.

You should refinish your deck to maintain its appearance, durability, and longevity. Refinishing your deck protects the wood from foot traffic and the elements. It also helps extend its life span by keeping rot, mildew, and termites at bay. By maintaining your deck, you can avoid the cost of replacing your deck sooner. A refinished deck also looks great and restores some of its original beauty.

When installing deck boards, screws are generally a better option than nails. Screws offer superior holding strength over time, keeping the boards securely in place. In contrast, nails are more likely to pop out, which can create a tripping hazard. While you can use either, we recommend using 3-inch galvanized deck screws. To minimize the risk of cracking the wood, it's a good practice to drill small pilot holes before driving the screws into the deck joists.
