"This company did a job in the rain instead of waiting for the next day. My stamping was extremely crooked, the steps were not even and were different heights, the seal was not done correctly and they refused to fix their error. Now, we are getting bubbling as well. The cutting was also done crooked and the whole job was lazy. What should have been a beautiful project was money wasted and will need to be completely redone in a couple of years. After immediately pointing issues out, they refused to redo their work and continued to "fix" it which did nothing. I'd never use them again."

Deck pier blocks are one alternative to traditional deck footings. Unlike poured concrete and buried post footings, deck blocks don’t require digging or pouring. They’re best for small or low-to-the-ground decks. With proper maintenance, the average life span of a screened-in porch is six to eight years for the screens themselves, but the foundation and structure can last for 50 to 100 years. To keep your screened-in porch in good shape, clean your porch screens regularly, patch holes, re-seal the wood as needed, and address any foundational issues right away.

Both deck footings and deck posts help prop up your deck. However, footings are the bottommost parts of a deck that touch the ground. They’re usually made of concrete. Posts are pieces of wood that attach to the top of the footings with brackets. They run upwards and connect to the underside of your deck to support its weight.

While the chemical, copper-based coating on pressure-treated wood offers protection from rot and pests, it’s not a silver bullet.
