Offering both home pest control and commercial pest control services, we placed our core values right in our name so that we’ll never forget what drives us. Hawx stands for: Honesty Attitude Work Ethic Excitement

"Beware at all costs!! They are liars and say anything to have you sign up for their services. I was told there was no contract and I could cancel at any time for any reason. Just sign your name on this iPad a couple times and you are done! BS - I tried to text, email and call to cancel and was initially told it was taken care of by the deceitful sales guy who strong armed me into signing. When I called customer service, I was passed from person to person who told me that I had signed a one year agreement that automatically renews and I would have to pay for the previous months (which I THOUGHT were cancelled) plus a $199 cancellation fee. I stood my ground and refused to pay it. So they started calling and emailing me EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! They finally charged my credit card without my authorization!! Lesson learned. Don’t feel sorry for the young college kid who will say anything to sell you a bogus policy. They only came to spray my yard twice over the course of 6 months and never did inside my house or the garage. What a terrible experience!!!"

Bird Control questions, answered by experts

No single deterrent will work 100 percent of the time, so we suggest combining deterrents to ensure your seed has the best possible chance to grow. Using bird netting over your seed, with physical deterrents like mylar tape coupled with hanging bird feeders at the edges of your growing area—and removing any bird’s nests, if possible—will give your seeds the best possible chance for success.

When woodpeckers start banging on your walls or roof, they are probably looking for insects to eat, storing nuts for winter, drilling a hole to make a nest, or communicating with other birds to establish territory or find a mate.

The size of the hole can help determine the reason for the pecking. Small irregular holes are a result of insect hunts. Acorn holes are more consistently sized and often fitted with a nut in the middle. Nest holes are large and have rounded edges. If the bird is pecking to mark its territory or attract a mate, it may leave dents rather than holes, and the noise will stop when the mating season starts in spring.

Metal coil-shaped retriever tools (around $50) help remove empty nests and debris from chimneys. Unless you are sure the nest is vacant, we recommend calling in a pro to handle bird’s nest removal from chimneys, vents, roofs, and other hard-to-reach places.

To keep animals out, you must prevent them from entering. As long as they can get in, the problem will persist. That said, consider making your attic less inviting using deterrents like motion-activated lights or ultrasonic devices. Additionally, keeping a well-maintained, clean, and uncluttered attic that you regularly inspect for activity may make the space less attractive to critters.

Both spikes and loose nets can be installed over nest sites to prevent the bird from returning, but nets are not a humane option since birds and other wildlife can get tangled in them.

Spikes are a humane alternative that deter nesting without harming the birds. In small areas, like vents, a very fine mesh net can be installed to prevent the bird from returning. These nets don't generally pose a risk to the birds.
