"Excellent work. We purchased natural cherry cabinets in shaker style, with the panels made of solid wood rather than veneer. That is more difficult work, as each panel has to be constructed from several planks. Moreover, the clear finish would leave any flaws more visible. Simply put, the doors are beautiful--flawless in both construction and finish. They are similar in quality to custom cherry furniture we own."

"They were VERY FAST and thorough. Listened to what I wanted and went above and beyond. Very well mannered, does NOT take breaks! Jess & Maddie worked like robots. Very friendly and caring ladies. Unpacked rooms full of totes, organized, labeled, bought organizing trays & put stuff where it belonged. Totes were from 2 years ago because of being hit by tornado and only moved to Tn. 2 days before the tornado we also had a garage full of not just totes but things that needed a permanent home. With stuffed health issues that raised, I was unable to do much myself. After 2 years of living out of totes, IHARTCLUTTER; has made our house into a HOME... WELL ALMOST. I have other things that we need to finish like painting cabinets, Hutch and bring some stuff they organized in the garage to come into kitchen when ready. AFTER we take care of that, I would love to have them return to finish garage and help organize it. Who knows? The barn may be next to go through the stuff stored in there. Overall, these YOUNG ladies did one heck of a job. I am so looking forward to having them FINISH moving us in. ð I was VERY HAPPY with their results. I even miss chatting with them. I would give the 10 Stars if possible. I would recommend them to anyone. I have told some of my friends and hopefully they hire them as well. God Bless you both Jess and Maddie. Stop in soon. ð I HART DECLUTTER!!! ð THANK YOU GIRLSð ¥°"

Closets questions, answered by experts

Walk-in closets are always the biggest and can easily be more than 100 square feet. Primary bedroom closets, even if not walk-ins, are the second largest category in most homes and sit between 30 and 80 square feet. Linen closets, utility closets, and built-in closets are smaller and, depending on their usage, tend to be between 10 and 50 square feet.

If you have a bathroom closet with movable shelves, you can place them at virtually any spacing that works for you. Useful measurements between shelves in the working, or middle, section can be 10 to 16 inches for towels or linens. Lower or higher shelving could be up to 24 inches between shelves to store lesser-used or bulky items or boxes.

Hanging and folding clothes are efficient ways to pack your clothes during a move. When choosing a packing method, consider the type of clothing you’re packing. For example, clothing such as dresses, suits, blouses, and items made of silk and similar fabrics are ideal for hangers. On the other hand, it’s easier to fold pants, shorts, t-shirts, thick sweaters, and more.

Fortunately, there are no hard and fast rules or regulations regarding the height of closet shelving. However, the typical height for a single closet shelf with a hanging bar is 70 inches from the floor. For a double-hanging system, use 84 to 85 inches from the floor for the top one and 42 inches for the lower.

Yes, adding a built-in or custom closet generally increases your home's value and makes it more attractive to potential buyers. A well-designed closet adds utility, organization, and a touch of luxury, which are appealing selling points. Most homeowners see a return on investment (ROI) of 50% to 60%; for example, a custom closet can add about $1,000 to your home's value on average. The specific ROI depends on the type, with custom walk-in closets typically providing more value than reach-in closets. However, to maximize value, ensure the closet doesn't significantly detract from the room's usable square footage. Converting an entire room into a closet can actually lower your home's value. Similarly, using overly lavish materials may not recoup their cost. A good strategy is to add a closet that takes square footage from a non-living area, such as a garage, to create a mudroom closet.
