"We had two different grades of stone delivered and installed. The second delivery was delayed by a mistake at the quarry but Jonathan at Putnam Greenspace worked with us and the quarry to reschedule the second delivery /install went as perfectly as the first."

"McCall Farms Excavation did a phenomenal job on grading and clearing my property in a really short time frame. That help me tremendously to be able to complete my project in time. They are always ready to work and never disappoint, to this day, I still call McCall Farms for service such as dump truck deliveries, excavation, and land clearing. I strongly recommend giving them a call, they are the best around Middle Tennessee."

"Golden Mtn Excavation provided excavation and clearing services for my rental property. The previous owners had let trash, debris and overgrowth cover the entire 1 acre lot. I needed to clear it out to rebuild, but didn't have the equipment or time to do it myself. I reached out to them and they were very responsive. They came out for an assessment within 48 hours and provided a fair quote the same day. Their price was reasonable given the large scope of work. They scheduled the job to start with in a week, which gave me time to prepare while also not having to wait too long. On the agreed start date, the crew showed up with all the necessary heavy machinery - excavators, bulldozers, dump trucks. They got to work right away clearing debris, pulling out the old shed foundation and leveling the high spots in the yard. The crew was efficient and worked quickly but safely. They separated materials for recycling versus waste removal. I could not believe the transformation - it looked like a totally new property! They did a fantastic job of clearing out everything but leaving the landscape fully graded and level for my new construction. They even hauled away the extra fill dirt for me. The foreman and owner stopped by on the last day to inspect for any missed items and addressed a small drainage issue without any hassle. Their communication throughout was excellent as well. I would absolutely recommend Golden Mtn Excavation for small or large clearing projects. Their professionalism and quality of work made what could have been a nightmare project go very smoothly.."

Land Clearing Services questions, answered by experts

You can’t build on undeveloped land without preparing it for construction, which involves running utilities to the site or accounting for private utilities like wells and septic systems and grading and compacting the soil for safe construction. Once you prepare the land, you can build on it as long as the project abides by local zoning regulations.

A land survey provides precise property boundaries, reveals legal encroachments, and identifies rights-of-way, minimizing disputes. Understanding the exact dimensions and features of the property aids in informed decision-making and safeguards the buyer's investment.

Before property transactions or major improvements to ensure accuracy.

Prior to excavation, you should prepare the dig site and call 311 before you sign anything.

To get your site ready for excavation, you should move anything in the area that isn’t affixed to the land. You can save money on the excavation by removing hardscaping, including walkways, decks, concrete patios, and paver patios.

Before you carry out any digging, you should call 311 to confirm that there are no utility lines running through your excavation site. Skipping this step could lead to severe injury and property damage if your excavator hits a water, sewage, or gas line.

There are a couple of ways you can determine the depth of your well. One method is to use a device called a well sounder. This tool has a long measuring tape containing a sensor to alert you once the end reaches the water.

Or you can DIY it by using a long tape measure with a half-filled bottle of water attached to it. Lower the tape measure into your well. Once you feel tension on the tape, you’ll know the bottle has reached your static water level. This will give you an approximate idea of your well’s depth.
