"I had an increasing water problem in my basement when it rained. Kevin came to look at the situation very promptly and assessed the problem . He was very good about making sure I understood my options and costs up front. He walked me through every step and reviewed the work once completed. I am very happy with the professionalism and excellent work of Kevin and his workers. I am happy to recommend this service. Kevin went above and beyond when they had thrown out a rock-yup, a rock-that was my mother's - he went and retrieved it! Amazing sensitivity."

Small jobs welcome

"I have an old house built in 1880. Not sure when the bathroom was last updated but needless to say there were many surprises in the project but Joseph, Paul and Crystal (and of course all the other individuals that assisted) handle these with professionalism and were always kind, honest and pleasant to work with. They went above and WAYYY beyond my expectations of a contractor. I will most definitely use them again….of course after I save up for the next project. Lol. You will not be disappointed when you use this company/individuals. I had them in and out of my home for about 3 months and felt confident that there was nothing to worry about and when they left every day my house was left better than they found it. SUPERB!!!"

Mulch and Topsoil questions, answered by experts

Pea gravel is a type of gravel that is generally smaller and rounder than regular gravel. It's usually made from river rock and is available in a wide range of colors. Thanks to its soft, round shape, pea gravel is more comfortable to walk on compared to standard gravel, which can have sharp edges. A drawback of pea gravel is that it can scatter more easily than other gravel types.

Yes, gravel comes in different sizes, from fine powder to pea-, coin-, and even golf ball-size. Pea gravel is about 3/8 inch, while crushed stone gravel is about 3/8 to 4 inches. Most companies use a numerical system to assign a size, with the smallest being #10 and the biggest being #1.

Weeds can grow through rubber mulch, but it depends on if you removed all the weeds in your garden beforehand. Weeds already in the soil can grow even when using rubber mulch. However, that doesn’t mean that your garden will be littered with rubber and weeds, but it does mean that the occasional weed might still pop up. Another way you can increase your weed suppression is by using landscape fabric as a second layer.

Mulch is widely available and affordable. You can find it online or at most local home improvement stores.

Yes, a cubic yard of dirt will fit in most standard-size pickup trucks. However, consider the truck’s payload as well as the truck bed dimensions before loading it up with dirt. Soil can be quite heavy, and if the total weight of a yard of dirt exceeds your truck’s payload capacity, you risk damaging the chassis and suspension.
