"We recently had Claymore Residential and Commercial Painting come to paint the inside of our home and we couldn?t be happier with the results! We weren't sure what color scheme to go with, but with Grayson's expert eye he helped us find the perfect match. We were impressed by how he got back to us the same day we reached out, did a walkthrough that evening, started work that weekend and had the job finished by Monday, just in time for our daughter's graduation party. Grayson is very professional but down to earth and personable too, which is nice beings he's a stranger in your living space. We noticed how Grayson clearly takes pride in his work because everything was spotless at the end of each day you'd never known he was even there. Grayson work is very good and he is time efficient. Our house looks fantastic! Highly recommend him to anyone!! I?m already planning to have him paint the exterior next!"

Painting questions, answered by experts

A dry lawn is easier to edge than a wet one. When your ground is wet, your blades will likely clump together, making a seemingly even cut while wet, but an uneven disaster when dried. Also, a wet lawn can impact your blade's performance and cause mud to kick up, resulting in a messy finish.

When applying multiple coats, wait four to six hours for each coat to dry. Not waiting long enough can result in streaks, peeling, and uneven color. Plus, it will be more difficult to discern where the second coat has already been applied.

The best finish for wrought iron railings is either a semi-gloss or a gloss sheen, as each offers good durability against rain, wind, heat, cold, and snow.

Stain is meant to be absorbed by the porous wood, allowing some of the natural grain to show through. With that in mind, you don’t want to add more stain than the wood can absorb, as you risk covering up its natural markings. Generally, two coats is the maximum you should do, although very dense hardwoods may only be able to take a single coat.

Yes, you can and should paint or stain pressure-treated wood, as this helps prevent the surface from cracking. However, it is crucial to wait for the wood to dry out completely from the chemical treatment process before applying a finish. If the wood is still wet, the paint will not adhere properly. The drying time can range from weeks to six months. To test if the wood is ready, drip some water onto a board. If the water is absorbed, the wood is dry enough for painting or staining. If the water beads up on the surface, it needs more time to dry. You can build with the wood while it's still wet, but you must wait for it to dry before painting.
