"Both jobs went well. Dennis reviewed the shower job with me. There was no drywall access in place, so after examining our home's floor plan, he showed me where to cut open and frame an access panel. I completed this prior to his arrival, and it worked well for his valve removal and installing a new Moen fixture. Dennis then replaced our outdated toilet with a Mansfield elongated toilet. Both jobs were completed in a professional, workmanship manner."

"Matt was great to work with. Very understanding of what I wanted and my budget constraints, and was able to design and build a perfect deck addition to our little creek-side cabin. His team got it done on time, it looks fantastic and is built to last. It will be part of many good times to be sure!"

"After a little trouble with the first crew that showed up and then abruptly left our property, within 2 days Midas had a new crew to our home. They worked 12 hours on a Saturday, and then again on Sunday until the job was completed. They cleaned up the worksite, checked for nails with a magnet, and did a fabulous job. I will definitely use Midas again in the future. Highly recommend."

"I only use James when I need some work done to my house. He responds fast, gets the work done quicker than just about anyone else I've ever used and seems very concerned with leaving his customers happy."

Gazebos questions, answered by experts

Log cabins are relatively difficult to maintain compared to a traditional house. That’s because log cabins require regular upkeep and care that can include refinishing and corncob blasting, a process similar to sandblasting that shoots ground-up corncob with compressed air.

Several types of porches are available to meet your needs and style preferences. Some common porch types include:

  • Porticos are essentially a roof over a walkway leading to the home's front entrance.

  • Sunrooms are closed-in porches that are an extension of the house with glass or plastic panels that allow optimal sunlight.

  • Wraparound porches extend around the entire home, or at least the front and one side, and offer multiple entrances to the house.

  • Back porches are an extension of the home’s floor into the outdoors. These offer more protection and privacy than a deck.

The average cost to build or install a gazebo is around $5,700, with prices typically ranging from $3,000 to $10,000. The final cost depends on several factors, including the gazebo's size, shape, material, and design complexity. For example, square gazebos and those made from metal can be more expensive, while brick is a more affordable material. Adding custom features like built-in seating or lighting will also increase the price. You can potentially save money by purchasing a prefabricated kit or performing some of the labor yourself.

Using concrete footers is the best way to secure a gazebo on a deck without drilling. The weight of the footers is more likely to hold your gazebo in place than other methods. You can also pour concrete into flower pots to create an aesthetically pleasing concrete footer or use concrete columns to make a statement.

Clean regularly, seal wood surfaces, and inspect for damage or rust to ensure longevity and safety.
