Never pour used motor oil down the drain. Doing so can have serious environmental consequences, including contaminating groundwater, endangering animals, and killing vegetation. It can also clog your pipes, causing backups in your plumbing or the wastewater treatment plant. In most places, pouring motor oil down the drain is illegal, whether you do it in your home or a storm drain.

You’ll need a backsplash behind your pedestal sink in your bathroom. Because pedestal sinks mount directly to the wall and usually have smaller basins with narrow rims, it’s easier to splash and get water on the wall or floor. You’re better off having a backsplash while brushing your teeth or washing your hands. 

Wall-mounted faucets are installed 6 to 8 inches above the countertop. The height you choose is very significant because the wrong choice will lead to a faucet that splashes water everywhere. Your installer should have a good recommendation based on your sink type, size, and shape. A good installer will ensure the sink is comfortable and splash-free.

Pedestal sinks are bolted or screwed into the floor and the wall to prevent it from moving out of place. You may have to change or add to the bathroom flooring when installing a pedestal sink if the flooring was laid around the previous sink, not under it.
