Small locally owned business. We sell MidContinent and Showplace Cabinetry as well as Laminate, Quartz, Granite and Hi-Mac Countertops. We will work with you to design your dream kitchen and/or bathroom at affordable prices. Cabinets are ordered with half down and the other half paid when the cabinets are delivered.

"I should have backed out when they didn't start until 6 weeks after promised. They came in and demo'd the bathroom and didn't show up again for 3 weeks. We purchased the bathtub, floor tile, and fixtures. We were told that Westport would take the amount off our bill and we ended up fighting for that and not getting all of the money. They would come in and do a few hours of work and disappear for a week or two. Our luxury vinyl tile was supposed to be installed with grout. It was not. The tile was butted up against each other. After it was installed we noticed several gouges in the tile. The worker wanted to fix them with caulk. After they were told no, they came back and replaced them, but gouged several other tiles in the process and just left it. We had to call them back several times to come out and replace their mess. They ordered a shower door that was too short and wanted to install it with a gap at the bottom to make it work. When they finally got another one, the frame sticks up about 2 inches above the stub wall in the shower. It took 5 months for this project start to finish. 4 months later grout is cracking in the shower. After numerous emails and promises to show up and fix it they finally showed up 2 months later and ran out of caulk said they would be back a couple of days later. My husband had to call the next week and they finally sent someone out to take care of it. I am sure we will end up having to hire someone else to fix it when it cracks again."

Cabinet Refacing and Refinishing questions, answered by experts

Late summer or early fall are two popular times to upgrade kitchen cabinets. With the holidays right around the corner, this gives you spillover time in case your renovation project takes longer than anticipated. Then you get to host and show off your new kitchen when company comes.

When it comes to painting kitchen cabinets, most professionals tend to use latex paint. However, acrylic paint is also a great option, especially if you're working with wood. Along with the paint type, you'll also want to think about the finish. For kitchen cabinets, the best paint finishes are usually semi-gloss or high-gloss. These finishes are incredibly durable, which is important in high-traffic areas like kitchens. Matte finishes, on the other hand, are less durable.

It’s usually worth your investment to refinish old or fading cabinets. Refinishing your cabinets can be an excellent and budget-friendly way to makeover your kitchen. You have a wide range of paint and stain colors to choose from, so you can achieve whatever look you desire without having to replace your existing cabinets. Plus, it's one of the home renovation projects that can help increase the value of your home.

Occasional cleaning with non-abrasive cloths, avoiding excessive moisture, and refinishing touch-ups prolong cabinet life and visual appeal magnified over usage.

It is possible to refinish your own cabinets, but it’s usually a better idea to leave the work to a cabinetry professional. Refinishing cabinets is a time- and labor-intensive process that involves stripping the old finish off, sanding down every face of the cabinets and doors, and then adding multiple coats of paint and protective finish. Not only is this hard work, but getting the final product to look clean and professional is challenging. An expert will be able to make quick work of the project and leave you with a final product you’ll love.
