Kitchen Tune-Up provided us with several consultations during which we made several revisions to our plans for the total renovation of our kitchen. Their ideas were creative, yet reasonable for our particular layout. Their showroom is so helpful because they have so many of the elements one should consider when remodeling the kitchen--tile, backsplash, cabinetry, displays, hardware, countertop material. | |They tore out the kitchen one week, Nov. 4, and a flooring retailer installed new floors two days later. One week after the tear out, Kitchen Tune-Up returned to put in almost all of the cabinets except one that had to be installed after the quartz countertop was installed. Each day after they were finished, they cleaned up and left things in an orderly way. | |The subcontractors they hired showed up when we were told they would be there. All were courteous and considerate--Jay, Rich, Brad, Tim, and Steve. | |From the time of the tear out to the end date, we had no kitchen sink and used a small bathroom sink; the stove and dishwasher were in the garage; the refrigerator was a in the dining room, but always plugged in for our use (with no water or ice). I assume this is normal for kitchen remodels. Having no sink was the biggest headache as it is difficult to wash items like crockpots and pans in a small sink. (We ate out a lot.) | |One really important thing for us was that Kitchen Tune-Up always took careful measure to insure that our new floor was protected from the doorway through the entry way into the kitchen and under the refrigerator. And when the cabinets were all put in, the appliances were all put back in the kitchen as part of the cleanup of each day's work. | |There were some minor delays that were caused by delivery of some shelves missing in one unit , but that was quickly remedied by a call from Russ or Robert. We are still awaiting the pantry door, but that is because it had to be measured and ordered after some drywalling was done. The door is expected within the next week. The longest wait time was between the measurement for the quartz counter top and its installation--three weeks and 5 days. The countertop is in (and beautiful, definitely worth the wait), the backsplash is being installed, the plumber was here today to get our sink working (Hallelujah!!!) and the disposal and the plumbing to the refrigerator. The electrician was here and will return tomorrow for under counter lighting and final hookup for switches and the garbage disposal. | |The deadline for the job was the week of December 2-6. It is expected to be completed this week of December 9-13 (except for the pantry door.) Although I am in a bit of a panic because the family is coming for Christmas, I can see that the completion date is near. (And from what I hear, being that close to the initial completion date is good.) | |Another important comment is that I was always treated with respect and cheerfulness each time I went to their showroom. Amy is their front desk person and made me feel welcome every time I stopped in (And that was very often !!) Russ, the owner, Robert, production manager, and Randall, along with Chris, were all very helpful and knowledgeable. | |The kitchen is coming together beautifully. We are pleased with all of it...and with Kitchen Tune-Up. (By the way, when we weren't here, everyone was closely supervised by our pomeranian Winston...and he has only good things to say about the way they all treated him!!!) | |
