"This company is the real deal! Although I am usually hesitant to go with a company that has reviews online, I understand that is our world. Within 30 minutes, I had a call and within 2 days, they were at my house with an estimate. Our deck was transformed and the results are absolutely amazing. Their attention to detail, professionalism, courtesy and work ethic are the best. I will recommend them to anyone who needs a deck power wash, stripping and staining. They are the best in the business and I have the pictures to prove it----actually they have the pictures as well so ask to see them. We are back to enjoying our deck and are so proud of the appearance! Trust them."

"I just moved to a new home, and I knew my deck needed maintenance but wasn't exactly sure what needed to be done. The railing seemed a little loose, and the wood was really dry and cracked. I had a couple bids to get my deck stained, but I also wanted to know what to do to correct the loose rail. The other bidders specialized in just painting and staining, so they didn't have input on the railing. The team from superpainters recommended some board replacement, which was what I thought needed to be done. I decided to go that route with a stain and replacement of rotten boards. We replaced all floorboards, and the 4x4's holding the rail, and sanded and stained the deck. When they started taking off the rail I stuck my finger into one of the rail boards and it was basically mush, then I went down and peeked at the floor boards that were removed, which were beginning to weaken to the point that the ends disintegrated just by flicking my finger at the wood. It was an accident waiting to happen, and my deck is up 1 story so I am so thankful that I went the route of replacing boards, and not just a stain. I asked them to find a stain that matches the natural wood color, and they sent me pictures from the store and recommended this clear honey-tinted color, which resulted in a gorgeous 2 tone deck due to the older wood being a darker hue and the newer replacement wood being lighter. Everybody that comes to my place compliments my deck. I just went to a neighborhood gathering and the new neighbors I haven't met asked me...are you the one with the deck that just got refinished because it is gorgeous. My goal was to be safe, but I am so happy with how beautiful it turned out."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

When choosing between deck stain or paint, knowing what will last longer is important. Deck paint lasts longer than deck stain. With deck paint, you can get up to 10 years of coverage before you need to reapply. With deck stain, that time is significantly shorter at two to three years

You can refresh a painted deck by either giving it a thorough cleaning or refinishing the deck altogether. Chipped or faded paint, as well as extensive damage, often calls for a new finish. To do this, remove the original coat of paint with a sander and add either a new coat of paint or a stain to protect the wood below.

Applying a sealer or topcoat after staining wood is highly recommended, though not always strictly required. A sealer protects the wood from moisture, UV rays, and weather-related issues, which is especially important for outdoor surfaces like decks and fences. It also enhances the stain's durability, prevents fading over time, and gives the wood a cleaner, more professional-looking finish. For some indoor applications, a sealer may not be necessary, depending on the type of stain used and the level of protection needed. It's always best to check the stain manufacturer's recommendations and consider the wood's intended use and exposure when deciding whether to apply a sealer.

Deck staining or painting safeguards wood against the elements through its protective layer, enhancing decay resistance, prolonging structural integrity, and improving visual appeal.

You’ll want to avoid excessively hot or humid conditions, so it’s best to apply your stain in late spring to early fall. It's also important to watch the weather forecast and aim for days when there isn’t rain expected for at least three days. For new decks, allow the wood to season beforehand for at least four to eight weeks.
