Customers say: True professional

"He is a pretty good guy.  He still does the work here in the neighborhood.  He does everything.  He is really good at granite countertops and new kitchen.  He is good at tile work.  The price was really good for the amount of work he did.  He did a lot of tile work.  I paid for the materials.  He was excellent.  He did exactly what he was going to do and that was a good thing.  He fulfilled his commitment.  He is really good at what he does.  He got a clear understanding of what I wanted to do.  He listened to what I had to say.  He did what I expected.  I didn't think I was overcharged for what was done.  He did a really great job.  He was here when he said he would be here and he was here every day until the job was done.  He came out for several weeks.  He was here on time.  He worked till 5 or 6'o clock and he would pick it up the next day.  He was very good.  He did what he said he was going to do.  I was impressed with the overall job he did.  I got him to other people who had high expectation also.  He is a pretty straightforward individual.  I got what I paid for."

"We were very pleased with their service. They did a very good job. We were very satisfied with what they did for us. They didn't leave anything behind and they took care of everything that we asked them to. They are fairly prompt with what we asked them to do and didn't have any issues, didn't have any problems with negotiations of what we asked of what we have done and what they quoted versus what we paid. It was right there spot on, not too bad for somebody coming out and rewire the house. Their price was competitive and it was not high, not low. They actually came back out couple of other extra times for rewiring of the tank less water heater and they were quite helpful. Overall they did excellent work. They were very nice guys, felt very comfortable with them and easy to talk to. As soon as they came in they started evaluating what needed to be done and they started checking all of those and things like that and the other ones that came they didn't do that. I would probably use them again. I actually recommended them to couple of other people."

Lighting questions, answered by experts

The average cost to install outdoor or landscape lighting is around $4,000, with most projects ranging from $2,000 to $6,000. The total cost can vary widely depending on several factors, including the number of fixtures, design complexity, and the type and quality of the lights used, such as wall sconces, pathway lights, or lamp posts. Other factors that influence the price are the square footage of the area being lit, the amount of electrical work needed, any required excavation or trenching, and local permitting costs. For specific types, you might pay around $100 for pathway or string lighting and up to $700 for lamp post lighting.

The lifespan of a pool light depends on the type, but thankfully, these lights are designed to last a long time before they need to be replaced. LED bulbs last the longest, about 20,000 to 30,000 hours, while incandescent bulbs last the shortest amount of time, about 1,000 to 5,000 hours. Fiber optic pool lights will last around 6,000 hours.

Local building codes typically require conduit around exterior wiring. Conduit protects the wire from moisture, extreme temperatures, sun exposure, and harsh weather conditions to prolong its lifespan. When a wire is worn out, it can be dangerous as the risk of electric shock or fire increases.

Your maintenance needs revolve around the type of foundation you choose, as well as how you furnish or decorate it. Patios require little else other than the occasional hose-down, but decks and other wooden structures will require annual power washing and sealing. You may also need to restain the wood every two to three years.

Adding a solid roof rather than building a pergola or leaving the space open will make maintenance much easier. Without a roof, you will need to spend more time sweeping, washing, and covering your furniture to protect it from UV bleaching.

No, you should not leave LED Christmas lights up all year. While the LED lights themselves are very durable, their wiring and casings can be as vulnerable as any Christmas lights. They’re subject to drying out, experiencing cold or sun damage that causes them to crack, and even damage caused by gnawing pests. (The same is true of incandescents.) If you want your lights to last the years that they’re rated for, bring them inside after Christmas is over.
