"After calling several tree removal/stump grinding businesses--one of them 3x, but they never returned any of my calls--Joseph, Elite Stump Grinding, called me. In this case, I guess, the 4th time was the charm. I explained the situation with an approximately 8.5" tree stump that needed to be removed. Based on my description, there were 2 options: 1) he could come and inspect the situation and then quote a price; or 2) he could give me a quote over the phone. There was no point in having him come 2x, so Joseph gave us a quote over the phone. The day we scheduled was the hottest day, with the humidex factor reaching 107 F. I was worried and called Joseph to note that I would be ok with changing to a different, cooler day. He assured me that he would be OK. In addition, I discovered that when I was removing dirt from around the stump, the root area was much more substantial than I had realized. As a result when he saw the situation, Joseph noted that it would take a little longer than he had expected. However, he did not advise us that he would have to charge more as a result of the additional work. He set up a protective barrier around the stump area, and got straight to work. Afterwards, he cleaned up and raked to provide a flat, even area. My husband and I are both very impressed with Joseph's superb work ethic, professionalism, and friendliness, and thankful that he went the extra mile.
