"I honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience. From the moment I reached out, the team was responsive, friendly, and professional. They showed up on time, worked quickly, and treated my belongings and home with so much care and respect. What I thought would be a stressful day ended up being so easy because they handled everything seamlessly. You can tell they take pride in their work and genuinely care about their customers. They even went the extra mile without me having to ask, and that kind of service is hard to find these days. The pricing was fair, there were no hidden fees, and the entire process was smooth from beginning to end. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs junk removal or moving services. I'll definitely be using them again in the future. Thank you for making everything so easy!"

Small jobs welcome

"I needed a big stack of used moving boxes and other items removed from my property and this company aced it 100%. They were professional and super courteous from initial contact to final cleanup. I also liked the final check-in provided whether or not I needed to add any other items to the load before departure. I am still unpacking my house after a cross-country move so there will be more junk to haul away. Red String Theory Junk Removal will be my #1 choice to come save the day!"

"service was great and so was the price. contractor who did the work was very pleasant and professional. the only thing is he accidently cut down my baby lilac bush. it was just in the twig stage with about 20 leaves on it so it might have looked like a weed. otherwise, this contractor was fast and clean. would love to have him back. :)"

Leaf Removal questions, answered by experts

Chlorine has a shelf life of between six months and several years, depending on its type and formulation. Liquid chlorine can often lose its effectiveness in just a few weeks. Pool owners can find themselves with overstock that they need to get rid of. The best way to dispose of excess chlorine is to take it to a hazardous waste collection site and let the pros handle it.

You should ask a few questions to ensure that your potential lead removal professional is experienced and qualified to handle lead-paint abatement safely, legally, and properly.

  • What are your qualifications and experience removing lead-based paint?

  • Are you licensed and certified to remove lead-based paint?

  • How do you test for lead paint?

  • What methods do you use for lead-based paint abatement?

  • What do you plan to do with the hazardous material when you remove it from the home?

  • Do you do replacement and painting work or removal only?

The safest way to remove lead-based paint is by letting a professional take over. For most people, lead paint removal costs an average of $3,400. You should never attempt to dry sand old lead-based paint surfaces by hand. Most professionals use a paint stripper to do the job followed by wet scraping, but if you don’t want to remove lead paint, another option is to paint over it. Only consider this option if the old lead paint finish isn’t flaking or cracked.

You can paint over lead paint, or “encapsulate” it with a special paint that includes an ingredient called an encapsulant. The EPA approves encapsulation as a lead paint removal method as long as the paint remains undisturbed. Standard types of paint without an “encapsulant” from the big box stores or hardware stores do not meet EPA standards for remediation of lead-based paint.

While not all homes built before 1978 contain lead paint, enough do, so you’ll still want to test to be on the safe side. The federal government banned lead-based paint for homes in 1978, but your state may have banned lead before that time. Around 24% of homes built between 1960 and 1977 contained lead-based paint, while 87% of homes built before 1940 contained lead-based paint.
