Customers say: True professional

"Fantastic! We had hired a handyman from SMAP ( send me a pro ) to install a new bathroom door for us and he did such a terrible job that the door would not even close. Hg came out and corrected the situation so we now have a perfectly functioning door. We now know who to recommend , and who not to recommend, when work needs to be done."

"I am very pleased with the work done by Jose. He and his assistant completely rebuilt my mailbox and it looks great. The guys were here earlier than expected and stayed until the job was finished. Two very nice people! Highly recommended, and I will call him again."

"I called Mike in the morning just hoping he would be able to come by and give me an estimate in a day or two. He said he would be working in my area and would call me that afternoon when he was clear. He called me back exactly when he said he would and arrived within 30 minutes. He gave me a quick estimate which was a fair price for the work to be done. It was late in the afternoon but he said he would do the job while he was there. He was very careful not to harm the siding on the house or my plants and flowers. He finished just before dark. It wasn't  until the next day that I could see what a good job he did. All the mold, mildew and dirt was gone and the house and decks looked great. I was very pleased with his work. Would definitely hire Mike again and would recommend him to my friends."

"They did an awesome job of cutting down two massive water oaks in a small confined space. The entire job involved climbing, cutting and lowering the cut pieces to the ground. In the end the job was done on time and with no damage to the property. Finally, the price was great for the work done. I would highly recommend them for tree work and removal. Also people of the Upstate SC these, i live in Anderson SC and they came and did the work from Brevard NC. So ask they to quote if you live around here."

"I had originally scheduled my appointment for a Sunday. They called that morning to confirm the appointment and recommended changing it to Monday due to a service fee of $145 for Sunday versus $69 for a weekday. Changed it with no problem. Then called Monday morning to say that had a cancellation and wanted to come 4 hours early. Not a problem. Total service took about 45 minutes and everything worked great when they left! The tech even installed the electric eyes for safety, checked everything before he left and explained what he did and why to my disabled partner. He made sure the explanation was clear, and demonstrated everything was in working order. Will definitely hire again and recommend to anyone!"

Greenhouses and Nurseries questions, answered by experts

Eco-friendly materials include sustainably-sourced woods, recycled metals, low-VOC paints, and non-toxic sealants, which reduce environmental impact. Using these in repairs promotes sustainability and can improve indoor air quality and overall building health.

The quickest way you can protect plants and trees from frost is to cover them with garden blankets or frost cloths. Also, bringing potted plants or trees indoors is much simpler than trying to cover and protect them outdoors. Remember to anchor blankets with something such as sandbags, fabric pins, or rocks if the forecast calls for strong winds to keep them from blowing away and exposing your trees and plants.

Minor fixes like patching leaks or repainting are DIY-friendly, but structural repairs require professional expertise.

In most cases, wait three to five days to repot or relocate a plant from a greenhouse or nursery. That way, your plant has time to recover from any shock during the move and adapt to the conditions in and around your home. Some hearty plants may not need as long, and delicate plants might need several weeks. You should ask the professional at your nursery for a recommended timeline. Consider asking about an initial watering schedule to help stimulate root growth and promote a healthy plant.

Adding burnt charcoal to your garden beds and plant pots can yield several benefits, but there are risks involved, too. Charcoal, particularly biochar, can enhance soil structure, improve water drainage, and increase nutrient retention. When activated, charcoal provides key nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. However, burnt charcoal, especially from briquettes, can inadvertently alter soil's pH levels and become hazardous to plants. Overall, there are better and less risky soil amendments available, such as vermiculite, perlite, or wood chips.
