"Pinehurst Turf Pros were recommended to me by the makers of the synthetic turf. They were professional from start to finish. I would not hesitate to use them again. The project turned out better than I anticipated."

"I used Angie's list to find a landscaping company to demo and rebuild a retaining wall. I was contact by Will Brown who scheduled to meet me a few days later. When I met Will his customer service was great I found him to be very personable and he provided me a quote for the job on the spot. After Meeting Will I was sold and decided to use his company. I was advised that he could do the job in about two weeks and that was certainly the case. Two weeks later his crew showed up and got started. All of the personnel were very sociable and more then willing to answer any of my questions and address any wants I had as they did the job. His employee's had very upbeat attitudes and they worked phenomenal together. The retaining wall was going exceptionally well and I decided to speak with Will about adding a gravel drive to the road. When I mentioned the drive to Will he advised they certainly could do it and provided several ideas on how to make it work best. My wife and I again decided to use B&B Landscaping for this job as well and it was added on at the same time. Two days of work and we had a new well built wall and a gravel driveway that most neighbors have stopped by to admire. I will certainly reach out to Will and B&B Landscaping for any future projects. The pricing and customer service I would view as impossible to beat."

Small jobs welcome

"We have hired Ryan several times for several jobs and are never disappointed. He has cleared several lots for us, done some tree trimming/bush removal and removed a huge oak tree stump from hurricane Helena which was not an easy job. The stump was still in the ground and was well over 5ft in diameter. He has also done some landscaping for us. He is always communicative, professional, and gets the job done quickly. Would highly recommend."

Brush Chipping questions, answered by experts

Using a truck to remove a bush falls into the category of “just because you can, doesn’t mean you should.” While it is possible to use a truck to pull out a bush, if you don’t have the right equipment, if you’re not familiar with attaching things to your vehicle correctly, or if you don’t have enough room, it’s a risky option. To prevent damage to your vehicle, it’s worth using tools made for the job of digging and cutting roots instead.

Mature lilac bushes that are large and overgrown are more challenging to remove than small lilac bushes. Large lilac bushes have deeper roots that are more widespread, making it harder to dig them up and remove them. If you don’t dig under and around the primary roots, then you run the risk of the lilac bush growing back. So, it is a time-consuming process if done correctly.

Most rose bushes should not be heavily pruned in the summer since this is the prime growing and blooming season. The best time to trim is typically after the growing season or right before spring, depending on your rose bush variety. However, you can cut away any dead or diseased areas or lightly trim spent blooms during the summer to encourage more growth.

A pre-emergent herbicide is the most effective way to avoid stickers growing in your yard. However, if some manage to make it through, a post-emergent herbicide is the most effective way to kill them. However, environmental concerns exist when using chemicals on a lawn. Try vinegar or baking soda applications to kill sticker plants for a more natural yet still effective method.

Generally, it is not necessary to remove old mulch before applying a new layer. As organic mulch breaks down, it enriches the soil with nutrients. However, you should remove the old layer if it shows signs of fungus or disease, which can be common in moist areas, or if the total depth is already too thick. Avoid letting the total mulch depth exceed 3 inches, as this can harm plant roots. If you do remove old, disease-free mulch, it can be added to a compost pile.
