"Professional and customer oriented. Provides comprehensive assessment, and cost estimate; inclusive of individual cost of various materials required, linear footage of fence, estimated completion date. The owner was hands on during the entire turn-key project. His crew displayed initiative, professionalism, and good work ethics. The job involved over 500 linear feet of wood fence, removal of parts of existing chain link fence, & removal of obstacles. The work was done in a very timely and organized manner; consequently reducing delays. Clean-up was done, and material were removed the day of work completion. Hiring of Carter Enterprises, resulted in work and final project exceeding my expectations. It was a pleasure working with the owner, and I will not hesitate to hire Carter Enterprises again. Totally Customer Service orientated."

Gate Repair questions, answered by experts

It can cost $100 to $500 to purchase and install a gate opener. You can use ready-made kits that come with DIY instructions. If you hire a professional gate installer to handle the job, expect to pay an average of $100 per hour or between $200 and $500.

The most common cause of gate sensors not working is damaged wiring. Only a professional should diagnose this because it requires working with the system's electronics. There are safety concerns, but more than that, you don't want to accidentally short out your system or cause any electrical damage. Insects, rodents, and fallen branches are common reasons your wiring could become damaged.

Yes, you can convert manual gates to electric operation. Installing a motor and an opening device from a kit allows you to convert any gate so it can open and close automatically. Be sure to buy the correct type of opener for your gate style. For example, some openers are specific to swinging gates, while others are for sliding gates. Get familiar with your swinging or sliding gate parts before you go shopping to avoid having to return to the store for the correct opener.

Gates are often stuck halfway due to physical blockages or damage to the rollers, wheels, or tracks the gate runs on. Check to make sure there are no obstructions before considering that the motor might be burned out or malfunctioning somehow. Hopefully, the issue is simple, and you can remove it with a broom or your hands, but if your gate is stuck and there's no obvious reason why, you should call a pro to diagnose the issue.

Features include automation, intercoms, keypads, and decorative elements. Custom options enhance security and style.
