I have been waiting and calling and waiting and calling since March. Folks come out and promise to get this resolved but then drop the ball and I hear nothing. They have missed several appointments. No one seems to know what's going on. There seems to be no management or accountability at all at this company.

It went well - the two technicians that did the work were Joseph and TJ. They were punctual, polite and worked diligently to complete the job. I would gladly recommend their work to anyone else that needed this type of work done.

It went well. It was discovered that the inducer fan motor needs replacing. A good thing to know since cold weather is about to arrive.

I called 3 companies around 5 pm so I wasnโ€™t expecting anyone to come out that evening. One gave me an appt two days later, other one the next day. ARS said they could be here within the hour, impressive. I liked the no frills or car dealer type , Iโ€™m getting you this great deal and discount. Salesman went over the products, warranty, and Quoted a fair price for a quality unit. He even said he had no rebates or discounts, just a fair price and great warranty with a national company. We wanted a bigger company as some small ones go out of business and no one to perform warranty work. System does everything promised. Only thing thing that would have made it perfect is if salesman would have stopped by in a few days just to ensure we were happy. We are happy but like chick filet concept, that little extra simple thing is what folks remember and why most make extra effort to recommend. Price was around 4-500$ more than average but we wanted a top tier unit and ARS warranty canโ€™t be beat, and it comes with two years spring and fall tune ups. Very professional.

The employee refused to answer my questions as they were reviewing the heat pump & outside A/C unit and then simply pronounced a very expensive repair (replacing heating coil!) without indicating why. He never checked the temperature of air exiting ducts and said adding freon in the meantime was a waste since it would all leak out (in 4days!) and left my 80 year COPD mother in 85+ degree inside heat. The 2nd contractor I called answered all questions, provided a very fair price, added freon so there was interim A/C while the parts came in, and fixed it within 2 days. Total cost was less than 1/2 of ARS's.

I pay $14 a month for their service contract, a maintenance contract, and they come out twice a year and do a thorough cleaning. The unit that I purchased from them is a Carrier unit, never buy another one. I would not buy a Carrier unit. Heck no! They have three different levels, a low end unit like a contractor's unit, then they have three middle of the line units, and I bought the top of the middle line. The next units were the Infinity. Maybe they would be made better if they were made in Mexico. This unit has gone through my ceiling two times. The first time, ARS paid for everything. They came out and paid for everything because it wasn't even a year old. Then I had them switch out the air handler out upstairs and they gave me the highest end air handler. So, the backed it up. They came out on the a 104 degree day, our air went out, and I couldn't find anybody to come out. They came out that night, this has been 8 years ago, so we bought the unit. It was a choice between a Trane or the Carrier. We paid $7200 for a 5 ton and a new duct to be put in our closet. They came out the next day. They had a 3 crew and it was 156 degrees in the attic. They put all the unit and everything in. They had my house cooled down in no time flat, but I have had a lot of trouble with the Carrier. But, being on the contract, the biggest plus is if this unit goes down, I get right on the list because I'm on their service contract list. I'm going to the front of the line. The first unit we've had for 8 years and this unit is probably 8 or 9 years old, but I have it serviced twice a year with them. Everything is included. There's no charge for them coming out and cleaning it. But Carrier gave me an extra 10 years on the warranty. I ended up with an 11 year warranty on the unit and boy am I glad, because it breaks 2 or 3 times a year. I'll never buy another Carrier unit and I won't ever suggest that anyone put a split unit in. Not if you have a crawl space. When we built this house, my brother-in-law built it, and he in the one who put the split unit in and we didn't realize about them leaking through the ceiling and the pans. They sit in a pan, but the pan is not warrantied and it leaks through the ceiling. But that one, ARS paid for the mattresses, I got an upgrade on my air handler, they backed it out and they came right out. And, they also put three cut-off switches if water gets in that pan. But, it leaked again another time from the pan. It was from the pan and they always come out and check and put silicone or something around where the screw holes are on that pan. So I have that and a compressor outside. I guess for backing things up and taking care of business, they get an "A". You can pay in yearly, but I pay it monthly. It's drafted out of my account: $14. I'm happy with it because I get two full cleanings a year. In the Spring and Fall. They're always very polite and they cover their shoes up. We were desperate and it was 104 degrees outside. They told me $7400 and I said, "put it in". I called another company and they couldn't get to us for 3 weeks and I called another place and you could just forget it. We went with the company that could produce the quickest. I don't know if we got a super good price or not but it was $7200. I'm happy with their service because they come right out and I'm smart enough to get them in the morning because the parts place closes at 4. I'll say overall, because I've been with them for 10 years, and I could have anybody come out and service, but because I pay that $14 a month and I get on the front of the line, I'll give them an "A" for that. They come within the time period that you choose. If they say 3:00, he's not going to come at 3. They might give you a 12:00 to 2:00 time frame and they show up. If they are running behind they'll call. I told them not to send flunkies out to my house. I tell them I want a senior tech. I've even asked for certain people and he got promoted and I hated it. I'm glad he got promoted, but he was smart and he could figure out real quick. He said, "you've had so many problems with this unit", you know, the Carrier issues. I just know I happened to get a lemon that Carrier manufacturers a unit. The next one I get is going to be a "Goodman". It's under Trane or Lennox. It's one of theirs. The last time the guy came to clean, he didn't tighten the fitting and my coolant leaked out. But, he was new but they came the next day and fixed it. It ran out a week later and I was out of town and my kids and dogs were here and they called and told me that it was just blowing out air, but it wasn't blowing out cool air, but they were going to try to come that night, but they came out the next morning.

Technician arrived and determined that capacitor was very weak. Advised to replace it. He quoted me $391 which included diagnostic fee which I thought it was too high but I needed the A/C system fixed asap as it was a 100 degree day. So it was replaced in short time. I had $50 coupon which the technician honored bringing it down to $341 but still I think its high. That's the only complaint I have about the experience. I'm not sure if I would use them again, I would check first other companies for their fees if I had another issue with my system again.

The guy replaced a 30 amp single pole fuse and charged $360 for the fuse, plus $49 for the service. It took him all of 5 minutes. A search shows 30 amp fuses cost at most $30. This is why Angies list is worth it. Never, never call ARS

Installation was fine. they showed up and started installing the unit. rain slowed down the process. but by the end of the day they had installed the unit. i was not pleased with them not being able to provide the air purifier. they were not able to make it fit. i wanted to see  if they could suggest an alternative; they said it  would not fit inside either. The reason i am writing this so long after installation is that i have not been pleased with the service on the unit since the installation. the unit does not maintain the set temperature on the thermostat. this is my third  unit  -not the same brand, and even with an old unit that came with the house, i have never had a unit not maintain the temperature that it was set for. when i had the technicians come out and checked the unit; they say  it was normal for a unit to go 10 degrees either way. that this was normal. so if you set a thermostat at 72; i should not be surprised if the house is  84 degrees.  i can not hardly work because it gets so hot by the middle of the day. i know there is something wrong with the unit, but i can not seem to get anyone from the company to deal with it.  An air conditioner should work at the temperature it is set for. i do not buy this excuse that it  can waver up to 10 degrees. give  me a break.
I will never use these people again, and anyone who does, is nuts.

Worst experience of my life in all the houses I have ever owned. Went through home depot. It has been almost 9 months and my system is still not right. I have been through many managers install and service technicians. Most were nice people but incompetent. They damaged my floors during install process. It took me 4 months to get the claim settled and then only because I got my lawyer involved. They were almost always late by a minimum of 30 minutes and as much as an hour and a half even though I was often the first appointment of the day. Did not pull a permit for work until work was completed. Never got the final inspection. Not installed to code. Used very cheap ducting and vent pipes. I bought a 95 percent efficient system and recently found out they installed an 80 percent efficiency gas heat system. Bought a new system to decrease utilities bill and have seen a HUGE increase in the electric portion (greater than 90 percentage) and a minimal decrease (6 percent) in the gas. Lack of response and inability to correct problems forced me to try to get the system removed and a "cheerfully refunded price of the unit per the contract" and have been through 4 people until I finally got to someone who made me an offer but also wanted another chance to correct the problem and a low ball offer of compensation for my troubles but if I removed the system I would get nothing but the purchase price of the instrument and it would take "a couple of months" to get my money back. A lot of the people I have dealt with have either been fired quit or moved to a different office. I have filed a complaint with the SC Department of Labor Licensing and Regulations because of their deceptive and dishonest practices. I would NEVER recommend ARS to anyone and seriously suggest Home Depot rethink their decision to contract with ARS for HVAC installations.

I had to call them back up for something that went awry after the installation. They had to come and straighten that but there was no problem with it. There was no cost because it is under warranty. It is a brand new heating and cooling system. I paid $10000 for this system. The guys that I had were, I even made a note of that with the company itself, they were really head and shoulders above anybody. They had two installers that were very conscientious of what they were doing and had a really good work ethic. They came in, got the stuff done, just didn't mess around and didn't prolong the job at all. The price was definitely comparable to other people because I talked with 3 different companies and theirs was definitely comparable to what the others were offering.  They just had the means to come in and get it done in the time frame that I needed it done because that was important to me. I needed them to not put me off because when I tried to reach the other companies for a followup visit it was difficult but after my initial consultation with ARS, told them what I was trying to do, told them how critical it was, we scheduled a time and it was done in the time I had allotted. So that was critical. As a matter of fact I am getting ready to do some renovations on another structure behind my house and I am going to hire them to add a AC unit back there.
