We offer 'top shelf" remodeling and repair, including insurance repairs. We are a South Carolina licensed Homebuilder that specializes in smaller remodeling and repair projects. We are a family owned and operated business with 31 years of experience. We use no subcontractors unless it is a specific skill set we do not have such as heavy equipment work for earth moving or carpet instillation, perhaps paper application.

"Michael is an average competent contractor. However his lack of subs is a serious hindrance to getting tasks accomplished in a timely fashion. Site development is not complete even though started mid 2016. Lack of reliable employees or subs pretty much leaves him a "one man show". If you want something done it may take 6-8 months. He works a little on a small job here, there, etc. and doesn't seem to be able to complete major tasks. He is very honest and tries to do a good job for his customers but is not capable of working on a task which has a short time line or very complex."

Gas Logs questions, answered by experts

Yes, it’s possible to cap a gas line yourself if you’re no longer using it or are simply going out of town for an extended period of time. It’s essential to follow the steps on properly capping a gas line yourself. If you’re uncomfortable with any of the steps, you may want to bring in a natural gas plumber for added reassurance.

Natural gas companies advise only shutting off the gas supply at the meter yourself if you smell natural gas or suspect there is a leak, typically following an emergency. Instead, you can shut off gas to individual appliances when necessary. If you want to turn off your natural gas entirely, you should contact your utility company. You’ll generally also need to acquire a permit to work on your natural gas line.

Having gas appliances in your home can be convenient—you benefit from faster water heating, more efficient clothes drying, and more affordable home heating. However, you need to be aware of the signs of a gas leak so that you and your family can take precautions to be safe around these versatile appliances.

Signs of a gas leak include:

  • Hissing sounds

  • Rotten egg smell

  • Higher than usual gas usage

  • Physical symptoms, such as headaches, dizziness, and nausea

While the line can't be removed, a pro can place a cap on the end to stop leaks. Contact a pro for a service call and speak with them about the related costs of either capping or removing the line altogether. Capping a gas line will cost between $75 and $150 while removing it will start at $250.

The best way to reset this valve is to contact your utility provider to do so safely. If the pipes are damaged and you reset the valve anyway, it could lead to a gas leak. It’s important to call in a pro as soon as you can to reconnect your gas supply after an earthquake and ensure the device will work again the next time there’s a quake.
