"Garfield is a professional who is very knowledgeable about residential solar programs. With his skills I was able to get qualified for the federal incentives that required no up front cost solar installations. Now I'm in process of getting solar on my second home also. I would definitely recommend Garfield."

"prompt with estimate, showed photos of the leaky skylight.  Richard gave a date when he would be able to install and arrived when he said he would.  Skylight is exactly what we requested and installation looks great.  The only reason I didn't give an A straight across the board is that the ceiling where the skylight was replaced now has dirty finger and hand prints where the work was done.  Had I been home to inspect the job I would have asked him to clean the ceiling.  However, since it needs to be repainted due to water damage from the leak, I left it alone.

Solar Panels questions, answered by experts

You can install solar panels on a metal roof, but it will require some additional thought and care versus a traditional asphalt shingle roof. That’s because heat dissipates off a metal roof differently than asphalt or wood, so you may need to space the panels further from the roof. However, a pro can help you with the details and provide a safe and effective installation.

The morning sun can be better for solar panels because it’s often brighter and clearer than the afternoon sun. The brighter the sun, the more energy solar panels produce. The strongest rays occur during midday, which tends to be prime time for solar energy generation. Most homes get a mix of morning and afternoon sunlight.

Solar panels should get at least four to six hours of direct sunlight daily. It’s even better if sunlight reaches panels between the peak hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. This is enough to power a home, depending on your solar system’s size and energy needs. Remember that panels will generate some power under cloudy skies or in the shade, and many systems compensate for lower sun exposure by drawing energy from the grid or battery storage.

Depending on the climate in your area, the best time to install solar panels is either winter or early spring. Summer is a fine time to install panels, too, but it tends to be the busy season, so prices may be higher and companies may have packed schedules. The installation process can take more time than expected between getting permits and finalizing a design, so start as soon as you can.

You’ll need to make sure you have a big enough solar panel to meet your well pump’s power demands, but you can use solar power to fully operate your well pump. It’s also a good idea to have battery storage to hold the solar power so you can still use your well pump after dark.
