"I had a great experience working with V. ISA GENERAL CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTING. They were prompt, professional, clean, and thorough in their electrical work. The team was honest about what needed to be done, and they completed everything they agreed to do to a high quality standard. I'm very satisfied with the results and will be using them again for my upcoming plumbing and gutter projects. V. "They advice, and had all our questions answered on sensible and affordable options. Very knowledgeable, prompt, polite, efficient, and thorough team! We are happy with their waterproofing services in our basement (fast sump pump and a grate trench with a discharge line that goes 15 feet to the outside bubbler) as well as crawl space shield installed under our addition. It works well, and Pioneer checked a month later and a year after for inspection and cleaning. A+ work and workers."

"I hired Coustom Construction for an interior paint job for my whole house. I live in a raise ranch and they painted my living room, bathrooms, and 3 bedrooms along with 3 walk in closets. They were extremely professional and easy to work with. The best part about thier work was they were very clean from start to finish! I would definitely recommend this business to anyone looking for clean and efficient professional work."

"Chris was quick to respond to our request for a quote for a new furnace. We had requested quotes from several other companies and most didn't respond, call back or show up when they said they would. He was very friendly & knowledgeable. He sent us a quote the same day. We are very happy with our choice to have CMA Heating & Air install our new furnace. We would highly recommend him!"

Subcontractors questions, answered by experts

Above all, the downside to building a new house is a longer timeline. You need several months to finish the build, depending on the supply chain and labor availability in the meantime. Building a home compared to buying one is also more expensive, both in the building process and when it comes to mortgage rates and property taxes.

While concrete walls do not need to "breathe" in the traditional sense of the word, they do require waterproofing and dehumidifying methods, particularly in basements below the water table. Concrete both contains moisture from its initial installation and can absorb water when exposed. Ensuring proper basement ventilation , installing a vapor barrier, and controlling water exposure are all important tasks.

Custom homes can take an average of 18 months to build, mainly due to the lengthy design process, and most projects take somewhere between 12 and 24 months. When you work with the right custom home builders near you, they can help you map the road ahead and understand what can speed up or delay the timeline. Choosing locally available materials, for example, can speed things up without losing that customized touch.

Balancing aesthetics with functionality amidst space planning is important. To do so, you could consider consulting both an interior designer and an architect to fulfill both these needs. Or you can tackle it on your own by prioritizing personal touches amidst space planning that add to the look but don't take away from the livability of the space.

Most Greek Revival architecture homes are one and a half to two stories, depending on the footprint, which sets them apart from some Federal architecture homes that are three stories. The gabled roof on the second floor can sometimes cut into the living space, especially on smaller homes of this style, which leaves a much smaller living area upstairs.
