"I was very pleased with S and M Pest Services. They were quite professional, up front about all work to be performed and the cost of each tier of service. They minimize the use of harmful pesticides yet still manage to get the job done. We hired them for two properties that had different requirements, with one being much more difficult than the other. The more difficult job involved setting external and internal traps, some exterior masonry work, roof and chimney work, substantial external patching of woodpecker damage, and significant termite control. They far exceeded expectations on the more difficult property and I would not hesitate to recommend them. I rated them a B for price because this was the first time we've had to use this service."
Chimney has excessive creosote built up in chimney and all over cap from excessive wood burning. Recommended she have flies cleaned before a chimney fire occurs

Old vent the birds nested in
Ridge vent nailed in with roofing nails that are coming up and allowing gaps for wildlife to enter the home through
Large nest on the bed frame. These were on all areas of each support board. This one single bed had thousands of live bed bugs on it. Each room was the same throughout the house. This case went on far too long

"These guys went way above and beyond for me and my squirrels. Originally, we all throught it was gray squirrels, but after much research and patience, they figured out it was red squirrels, which are so darn cute and much smaller and they were able to get right by the original traps; installed new traps, caught them and did not kill them because they are rare. I would highly recommend these guys, they stayed on my job 3 times longer than normal at least until they caught those squirrels. True professionals and interesting process."

I have been doing pest control for about 6 years. I really enjoy it! Who would of thought! I have a core license, a commercial license and a wildlife license. I can handle what ever you need! I went out on my own so I could take my time at people's houses and not have 20 jobs crammed on a day! I can take my time and make people feel like they got what they paid for! Oh yeah, I can save you some money!

Bird Control questions, answered by experts

Signs include visible nests, droppings, frequent loud noises, or structural damage caused by these animals, indicating a need for pest control intervention.

Identifying the specific animal running on your roof at night can be challenging without direct observation. Common nocturnal roof visitors include raccoons, squirrels, opossums, and rats. Raccoons are bigger and can create heavy thumping sounds. Squirrels are agile and may produce rapid scurrying noises. Opossums tend to move stealthily with less noise. Rats can make scratching or gnawing sounds. To determine the culprit, look for signs like footprints, droppings, or damaged areas near the roof. For accurate identification, consult a pest control professional or set up wildlife cameras near potential entry points.

An owl's worst enemy in the wild is often other raptors and environmental factors. Among the avian threats, larger owls or other birds of prey can pose a danger, engaging in territorial disputes or competing for food resources. Terrestrial predators like foxes, raccoons, and larger mammals may target owl nests or young fledglings. Environmental factors like severe weather conditions, habitat loss, and food availability changes can also significantly impact owl populations.

Strong scents like peppermint, rosemary, lavender, citronella, and others can repel woodpeckers—as pungent smells can overpower their senses. For that reason, you might consider making a homemade spray with one or a combination of these scents to spritz around areas of your home where woodpeckers frequent.

The lifespan of a bird's nest depends on the species. The building process can take from two days to three weeks. Once built, the nesting period for baby birds can last from two to ten weeks before they leave the nest. While most young birds are ready in two to six weeks, some predatory species may need up to two and a half months. Some species nest four to five times per year, so a nest could remain in use for several months. For specific information about a particular nest's longevity, it is best to consult a wildlife professional.
